Storehouse of Northeast Florida Volunteers
Bryceville Elementary School students volunteered at the Storehouse of Northeast Florida, assisting the local food pantry in preparing for an upcoming food distribution. BES students sorted and bagged canned goods and other non-perishable items, putting the month's resiliency theme of volunteering into action! It was an incredible opportunity to apply what our students are learning in the classroom! We are so proud of our students and their families for embracing the opportunity and giving back to our local community!
Sunshine State Young Readers Award Book Challenge
Each year, all Pirates at Emma Love Hardee Elementary are provided with the opportunity to complete the Sunshine State Young Readers Award book challenge by reading at least 10 of the books on the list. This year, 88 students across all grade levels completed the challenge and celebrated their hard work and success by partying with a video game truck, roller racers, and delicious pizza and ice cream sundaes. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things these students will do in the future!

Lots of Learning
Hilliard Elementary's Mrs. Johnson's class is learning about writing opinion pieces. Students are excited to share about their favorite games, from video games to Candy Land. They are also learning the important life skill of balancing a checkbook as they 'earn' and 'spend' throughout their classroom activities.
Fun Fact: Mrs. Johnson previously retired from teaching after dedicating over 30 years to education in Nassau County. She returned this year to teach at Hilliard Elementary.
