We love serving your child(ren) at NPES!
Principal message for May 20 -24TH
My heart leaps for joy after seeing the families and kids planning to join our school community as kinders next school year! Our Kinder Orientation event was well attended and charismatic! Furthermore, this week was filled with unique experiences hosting a math mindset webinar, completing two field trips, and accomplishing more state testing! As we navigate these final weeks of school before summer, it is our opportunity to count up the MANY celebrations rather than counting down to summer. In fact, we look forward to families joining us this coming Wednesday, May 22nd for our Student Showcase event from 5-7pm. This is an open house style event and a “showtime” experience! Fill out a ticket at the door for a fun raffle! Moreover, if your family has not created a tile featuring at least one important aspect of your culture, make it happen in our cafeteria! All completed tiles will be glazed, fired, and arranged in a unique design on the wall outside of our main office for years and years to come!
Friday, May 24th is "Dress as your favorite celebrity or role model” Day!
May is also Mental Health Awareness Month❤️, a time dedicated to raising awareness about mental health issues, reducing stigma, and promoting mental wellness. It's an opportunity for individuals and communities to come together to learn about mental health, advocate for support and resources, and foster environments that prioritize mental well-being. Mental health is an essential part of overall well-being and that everyone deserves access to support, understanding, and compassionate care. By spreading awareness and promoting acceptance, we can work towards creating a world where mental health is valued, understood, and prioritized for all.

Attention 6th Grade Parents!!!!
We have a lot of exciting things planned for the rest of the year. Please mark your calendars for the following events.
- State testing: ELA test Monday, May 20th - Thursday, May 23rd during the same morning window. The kids are prepared and ready to go. Please help us encourage them during this time.
- Wednesday, May 22nd is our Student Showcase. This event is open house style and begins at 5:00 PM. The seventh grade counselor from Evergreen Middle School will be hosting a parent session at 6:00 PM in room 4 (Mrs. Schwartz's classroom.) This is presentation style. Think of this event as a look behind the curtain. 🙂 Please see the below flyer for more information. Even if you attended the parent night in April, we still recommend you join us on the 22nd. The small venue allows for many more details to be revealed. Ms. Anderson will be answering any remaining questions you may have about next year.
- Please join us on Wednesday, June 12th from 12:45 PM - 1:30 PM outside in the front under cover for 6th grade promotion. We will have a short award and certificate ceremony followed by cake and pictures. If you are unable to attend, we will have a special 6th grade promotion sign that will be on campus until evening. Please feel free to stop by and take your family pictures then.
- We will continue the tradition of "clapping" out the 6th graders on Thursday, June 13th upon release (11:05 AM). In the past many parents liked to take pictures at that time too.
- All 6th graders will receive a free yearbook in honor of their last year in elementary school! No need to order one unless you would like more than one copy. Ordering is available on our PTO website: https://www.northplainspto.org/pto-shop

YEARBOOK is off to publishing and you can still purchase one ON SALE!
Field Day is Monday, June 3rd between 12:45-2pm!!
KEEP the volunteers coming! Please contact our office team!
