Banana Snowman Snack
Ingredients:
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced (3 banana slices for each snowman)
- 5 mini chocolate chips
- 1 pretzel stick
- 1 baby carrot
- 1 strawberry, sliced into quarters
Other Supplies needed:
- butter knife
Instructions:
First, gather up your supplies.
Obviously, you can make several snowmen out of one banana. The carrot and strawberry can also be used to make many snowmen.
This is perfect for letting the kids assemble.
Take three banana slices and line them up as illustrated below.
Use two mini chocolate chips for the eyes.
Use the other three for the buttons on the snowman.
Slice a sliver of the carrot off and poke it into the top banana slice under the eyes to serve as the nose.
Break the pretzel stick in half and these will serve as the arms. Poke them into the middle banana slice.
Place one of the strawberry quarter slices above the top banana slice to serve as the hat.

STAYING ACTIVE!
Find fun ways that you and your family can stay active to get the exercise they need for their growing bodies. Exercising can promote growing muscles / gross motor skills, promote restful sleep, helps to control weight, and helps to build strong heart and lungs. Below are just a few activities that you can incorporate at home when it's too cold to go outside.
1.Make commercial time, exercise time. Have kids get up and do jumping jacks or duck walks around the living room during commercial breaks of their favorite shows. No commercials? Just set a timer for a break in the middle of the episode.
2. Play video games that incorporate movement. Host a family game night of Just Dance or Wii bowling β or similar games that get participants up and moving.
3. Incorporate small dance parties throughout the day. Put on a favorite song and have kids dance around the room. Or have them dance along to a video on sites like Go Noodle.
4. Do a clean-up sprint. Encourage kids to dust, vacuum or declutter as many rooms as they can in five or 10 minutes.
5. Build an indoor obstacle course. Use household or garage items to encourage kids to crawl, jump and wiggle their way to fun.
6. Hold a scavenger hunt. Get kids moving throughout the house on a race to find items on individualized search lists.
