We are blessed to have our Sr. Pastor, Dr. Ron & 1st Lady Faye Godbolt and our Bishop,

Dr. John L. Godbolt and Elect Lady Vertell Godbolt, leading us through the Christian journey!

Our Youth Pastor, Dr. Sonny Kelly, taught an inspiring lesson entitled, "This Test Is For You!" His scripture references were: James 1:13-15, Jeremiah 29:11, and Matthew 4:1-11.

He explained that to God, a test is the following three things:

1. Proof to you that God is great enough! See 1 Corinthians 10:13

2. Preparation as referenced in Ephesians 6:10-11

3. Empowerment as referenced in James 4:7-8

We were so happy to have Aliciah Small's parents, grandmother, and other family members visiting with us today. We shared in her niece, Alaia VanBrackle's dedication. We were especially happy to have Christiana home and to meet her husband Branden.

Apris A. Smith, the daughter of Christopher & April Smith and granddaughter of Deacon Kenneth Simmons, is currently a junior at Terry Sanford High School and is a member of the Varsity Cheerleading team. She has cheered for three years. During her first year, she was captain of the JV Football and Basketball Cheer Teams. Apris continues to be a straight A student. She also made straight A's for the 2023-2024 school year.

She is very active at her school as well as One Church. She most recently was appointed to a position on the Student Government Association as a Representative of her Junior Class. At One Church, Apris faithfully volunteers every 3rd Sunday to work with the children in the nursery. She loves her church and looks forward to doing her part to assist in the Youth Department. Her hobbies include dancing, fashion, and being with her family and friends.

While she is excelling in her academics, she also is a part-time worker as a team member at Shoe Carnival of Fayetteville. Apris desires to attend University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where she wants to major in Pediatric Medicine.

When you see Apris at church, congratulate her on being selected "Cheerleader of Week" and for the outstanding job she doing in her academics.

Please mark your calendar for this important change to our Town Hall. We will not meet on the 5th Sunday in September; instead, we will meet on the 1st Sunday in October.

Dr. Sonny Kelly and his son, Sterling, were able to deliver 15 backpacks to New Century International Elementary School from One Church and Pastor Ron Godbolt. They also bumped into one of their favorite teachers of all time, Thelma Lou Gaines!

A special "Thanks" goes out to everyone that supported Bishop Godbolt as he celebrated with the saints of Powerhouse of Love & Faith on the 14th Anniversary of their pastors, Rev. Sheryl and Don Skelton.
