Mustang Minutes
Sharing our Nashua + Mustang PRIDE
November 15 2024
Good afternoon McCarthy Mustangs!
The Middle School Lost and Found
As we move into the colder months, we want to remind students to regularly check the lost and found for any missing items. Each week, we see a growing collection of sweatshirts, jackets, and other belongings left behind in the main office. After a few weeks, these items are eventually cleared away, so please encourage your child to stop by and claim anything they may have misplaced.
Additionally, we’d like to caution families about students bringing blankets to school. While our building is equipped with a new heating system, we have noted a few blankets in the building. However, blankets can raise hygiene concerns, especially when shared between students. Over the years, we've seen that students often share items like blankets, and this can inadvertently contribute to the spread of germs, particularly during the winter season (not to mention other unwanted critters). We encourage families to consider alternative ways to keep their children comfortable without the use of blankets, to help prevent health issues from spreading among our school community.
8th Grade Save the Date: Entrepreneurial Fair
A few weeks ago, our 8th grade students kicked off an exciting Entrepreneurial Fair Project, where they are creating holiday-themed, non-edible DIY products to sell as part of a fundraiser. The fair will take place during the school day on December 11 from 8:30-11:30 a.m., and we invite families to join us and support the students' hard work. This project blends lessons from math, business, art, and communication, giving students a hands-on, interdisciplinary experience as they learn to create, market, and sell their products. It’s a great opportunity to see their creativity and entrepreneurial skills in action!
School Store Open Until 11/21 - orders delivered before Christmas!
Student Events and Updates
Please confirm with your child that they are staying after school with a staff member. The main office closes by 4pm, and children need a late pass to get on the bus from a staff member. We do not allow children to stay after and ride the late bus if they do not have a reason to be at MMS after the last bell!
Student Council has a meeting after school on Wednesday 11/20.
November is National Novel Writing Month! Any student or adult who wants to have fun writing towards their goal is welcome to join Mrs. Pires in the library after school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays this month.
