LPS Tiger Talk
September 27, 2024
Message From The Principal
Dear LPS Families,
It's hard to believe that we are wrapping up September and moving into October. We have spent the month focusing on establishing routines and procedures that allow for a successful school year. Now that our beginning of year assessments, data reviews, and intervention planning are complete, we can focus on making learning more personalized. I am excited to watch our Tigers grow this year and am grateful for the opportunity to serve LPS!
As you know, we decided to move our annual LEPTA Fundraiser (the Walk-a-thon) to next Thursday (10/3) in hopes of avoiding the rain and storms. If you haven't taken the opportunity to support our Tigers (and the Tigers at LECC & LES too), I would encourage you to take a look at the details below and help us finish strong! The funds raised go directly to student experiences and learning opportunities like field trips, plays, and a visit from the Kona Ice Truck later this spring. We appreciate all of our amazing families for supporting this fundraiser and the work of our PTA.
Have a wonderful weekend and we will see our Tigers on Monday!
Sincerely,
Kevin Fancher
LEPTA News
Due to the weather from hurricane Helene, we have postponed the event to next Thursday. If you need to change your volunteer status for the day, please do so on Sign-Up Genius. We completely understand and apologize for any inconvenience rescheduling may have caused, but the safety of our tigers is always our number one priority.
Currently we have made it to 68% of our fundraising goal and appreciate all the donations families have been making! By donating today, you are helping make this our only big fundraiser for the year (As long as we meet our goal!). This is how we are able to fund all of the wonderful things we do in the schools such as field trips, teacher grants, conference meals for teachers and so much more!!

Counselor's Corner ~ A Note From Mrs. Chandler
Mrs. Chandler and Mrs. Osborn (Speech/Language Pathologist) visited all classrooms through the month of September to teach about Social Thinking with 1st and 2nd graders. Social Thinking is one aspect of our social emotional learning curriculum that we address here at LPS. These lessons focus on showing positive behaviors, being confident in their interactions with others and being problem solvers. This week we talked about big feelings and different kinds of calming strategies to help us get back to a happy and calm place. Please see the attachment below for more information on these lessons. We encourage you to talk with your child about what they are learning! If you have any questions you can contact Darcie Chandler at chandlda@lovelandschools.org.

Did you know that socks are the number 1 requested item for Homeless Shelters? Check out a cool video about Socktober from Kid President by clicking this link. Such a small act of kindness can really make a BIG difference!!
Goal: Collect 2,500 NEW pairs of socks
When: October 1- October 31
Where: LES and LPS
How: You can bring in any NEW pairs of socks or order from this Amazon link. If you order from the Amazon link, socks will be delivered directly to LES. If you bring in socks to LPS, please take them to Mrs. Chandler’s office!
Growing With The Loveland Learning Garden
River Sweep On 9/29
Help us clear dams and trash along our nature trail creek to improve water flow and allow for more broad and safe kid exploration! The nature trail is used for our nonprofit's outdoor education programs as we immerse kids in nature. As a haven for wildlife, many invertebrates call the creek bed their home. Feeding the Little Miami, this effort also supports the quality of our regional water system! Free t-shirt provided by ORSANCO for all volunteers! Everyone is invited - bring your team, club, scouts, family! Service hours are available. CLICK HERE TO REGISTER
Loveland Learning Garden is a volunteer-run nonprofit which funds and maintains a garden and nature trail on school grounds as spaces to connect kids to nature through outdoor educational programs. Follow @lovelandlearninggarden on IG/FB or visit www.lovelandlearninggarden.org
