SES Weekly Update!
March 10-14, 2025
Hello SES families! Welcome to the first week of Lent!
the day after a flood
only to discover on calm water
a gathering of trumpet swans,
the elegant stretch of their long necks rising,
their white wings spread wide in arrival.
Or like skiing through a vast valley
only to find another trail that leads you
into a grove of elder cedar trees,
their great trunks humbling you,
their balsamic scent opening
in the shade like holy incense.
Yes, that’s what it’s like when,
in a world that feels hostile and hateful,
you arrive in a faraway town full of strangers
who welcome you into warm rooms
filled with bright cloths, with soft guitar,
with fringed yellow tulips in blue vases.
Yes, that’s what it’s like when,
after listening to the firehose of the news,
you meet new friends who speak with you
of moss and making baskets and singing and seeds,
and your heart leaps up like a crocus in spring,
alive with the truth of how good it can be, this life.

Showered in Love!
St. Elizabeth Seton School is once again partnering with Morning Star Women’s Program. We are collecting hygiene and shower supplies. Items can be dropped off at the school anytime between Feb. 18 and March 21.
Parent Council Volunteer Email List
We are needing to boost our parent council community. While we know everyone has busy schedules, we work hard to support our school and facilitate lots of great experiences for our students and we are needing some help. A few of our members who take on a lot of the activities and regularly attend the meetings will no longer have students at St. Elizabeth Seton next year and our attendance has been dwindling. We want this Parent Council to continue to flourish as it has for years so we are looking to you. All of that to say, we want to hear from you on what might bring you to Parent Council. Thank you!
St. Mary's, Sacred Heart Parish Sacraments
Sacraments are physical signs of God's grace living through us. They are a direct link between our physical lives and the divine.
St. Mary's Parish will be offering sessions for any children or families interested in furthering their sacramental journey. If you are wondering about Baptism, Eucharist, or Reconciliation, please check with St. Mary's Parish at 403-347-3114, Sacred Heart Parish at 403-346-2618, or contact the school and we will help you however we can!
Staff Parking
A reminder for parents to refrain from parking in the staff parking lot at the beginning and the end of the day, even just for a few minutes. Parent vehicles have been blocking staff when they arrive and when they try to go home. Thank you for your understanding.
