The Common Application
The COLLEGE APPLICATION is the backbone of all of the information a college/university needs to know about you to assess if you'd be a good fit for their school. The majority of schools use the Common Application as their application portal. Some schools have an application portal built into their website, and other schools use an application portal called the Coalition App (similar to the Common App; see schools that use the Coalition App here). Creating an account on any of these portals is free, but most colleges/universities have a cost associated with applying. All applications are created and submitted online.
For step-by-step directions about applying to college and FAQs, please visit Ms. Erikson's 'The College Application' Canvas page.

Dynamy GAP YEAR webinar - 3/19 @ 7pm
What do Gap Years, Internships, Life Skills, Independent Living & Mentoring Have in Common?
Join Us for a Remote Open House on March 19th at 7pm to Find Out!
- At Dynamy Internship Year, we understand this is a pivotal time in young adult lives. As students continue to explore post-grad options, they may be feeling unsure about college readiness, college majors, and future career goals.
- This time of year it's common for students to question whether or not they're even ready for the journey after graduation. Perhaps they would benefit from a gap year to explore and figure out life's next steps? We know there are so many options and it can be overwhelming! How does this sound? A gap year or semester to test drive the future, explore career paths, pursue passions, live independently, build confidence, strengthen skills, and gain real world experience?
- During this 1-hour event, you will have the opportunity to get a program overview, meet staff, hear from a parent and student, and engage in a live Q&A with our Director of Admissions, Stephanie Kozlowski, Program Director, Scott Berozi, and Assistant Director of Admissions, Juliana Daggett. Upcoming Webinars & Events
College Admissions webinars with Revolution Prep: 4/10, 4/23
Understanding UC Admissions (A discussion on the University of California admissions process, led by a senior admissions leader from one of the UC campuses): Thursday, April 10th | 9 PM - Families Register Here! Join us for an informative discussion on the University of California admissions process, led by a senior admissions leader from one of the UC campuses. This session will explore:
- The evolving criteria and evaluation methods unique to the UC system
- Recent trends and updates that shape the UC applicant landscape
- Practical guidance to help you navigate the UC application process
Whether you’re a prospective student, parent, or education professional, you’ll gain valuable insights to better understand the nuances of UC admissions without unnecessary pressure.
The Admission Game (An interactive case study experience): Wednesday, April 23rd | 7 PM - Families Register Here! Do you ever wonder who “gets in” and “why?” The Admission Game answers these questions by taking you inside the college admission process. This high-energy, high-impact, interactive case study exercise for students and parents transforms the audience into an admission committee at a fictitious institution, Easton University. Former dean of admission Peter Van Buskirk teaches the audience by using and explaining relevant terms that help ease the stress of an otherwise frenzied process. You will review four candidates to Easton U and determine which one will be admitted. While each brings something special to the competition, none are perfect. The selection process is eye-opening and gives students insight into how their credentials will be assessed, putting them in a position to create more compelling applications. This signature program reveals the mechanics of the admission process, the “hidden agendas” of admission officers as they make decisions, and the relevance of institutional selectivity as students identify and compete for admission at places that fit them best.

Youth in Philanthropy - Apply now!
Youth in Philanthropy, or YIP! YIP is an experiential leadership development program for high school students in MetroWest. It empowers and educates local youth to become our community’s next generation of philanthropists – those who give their time, talent, and treasure for the common good. Visit our website for more information. We have a great history of Framingham students participating in YIP over our 27 years of programming, and we wanted to continue this tradition.
In the Spring of 2025, the Community Foundation for MetroWest will be hosting two YIP programs: one in Framingham and one in Wellesley. Any students living and learning in MetroWest are welcome in in the Framingham program, which we imagine makes the most sense due to the distance, and if spots in that program fill up there may be the possibility for students to participate in the Wellesley program as well. The Natick program meets on Wednesdays from 7-8:30 at the MetroWest YMCA at 280 Old Connecticut Path, Framingham, and kicks off on January 22nd. The application for the program can be found here!
