2024 HAWK Games
Cheers filled the air as Beckman students put medals around their necks and paraded down a long corridor before entering the largest Hawk Games event yet! We had over 40 students from our special education program attend with over 30 General Education peers by their sides. Students participated in a variety of activities including basketball, softball, bowling, parachute play, crafts, board games and much more! Our Superintendent, Mark Johnson was present and he said "this is one of my TOP THREE events in the district!" Fun was had by all as they played, danced, socialized and ate hotdogs with their buddies!

On Saturday 2/17/24, our Medical Certificate Program hosted it's 8th Annual Mentorship Day event with 21 guest volunteer mentors & 115 students in attendance! Students had the opportunity to choose any 3 mentors from a wide range of STEM careers and sit down with each of their mentors for 30 minutes to ask questions about their profession or questions about life. Cheer Brings Home a Title
Please join us in congratulating our Varsity Cheer Team in bringing home a National Title for the first time at the USA National High School Spirit Championship Competition in Anaheim, CA, a CIF sanctioned National competition for High School cheerleading teams on February 17th! Our Varsity cheerleading squad competed in the highest division possible, the advanced division. At Nationals, these athletes compete against schools from all over California, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Texas, Washington, and more. The preliminary round was on the 1st day of Nationals and only 30% of the high schools were invited to compete in the final round on the 2nd day. The Varsity Cheerleading team made it to the final round in both of their competition routines and earned a 1st Place National Championship Title for our traditional routine! This was Beckman’s first time in history taking home a National Title in the Advanced division at Nationals. Our Varsity Cheerleaders also took home 2nd place for our Game Day routine (0.2 of a point away from 1st place)!
We are very proud of these athletes! They have put in countless hours in at practice in order to compete at the highest level of competition, which is not an easy feat. It was an amazing experience to see them compete as one and go on the competition floor, not once but twice, with unity and confidence as young women. If you have them in class, please give them a shout out!

Students who received a 3.5 or higher at the recent semester marking period are awarded a certificate and a donut. This tradition has been part of Beckman for over 20 years and continues to be a fun way to recognize students who achieve in the classroom.

2024 Teacher of the Year - Randy Bowman
Congratulations to Mr. Randy Bowman! Mr. Bowman has been a teacher for over 20 years. Since joining Beckman in 2006, he served as our AP Government and World History teacher, AND assistant tennis coach. Mr. Bowman has been an integral part of our Social Science department and stands out as one of the most positive and uplifting members of our staff. No matter what may be happening in his own life, his ever-present smile brightens the entire school community. He has impacted 1000’s of students lives and alumni are often found sneaking onn campus trying to say hi to Mr. Bowman. His signature laugh adds an extra layer of joy to our educational community and years ago inspired a game of “Motorcycle, Dog, or Bowman” among students. As Teacher of the Year, Mr. Bowman's commitment to fostering a positive classroom environment sets a commendable standard for educational excellence.
