Coyote Chronicles
Cloverdale families,
It's hard to believe that we are already in November! We only have 2 weeks left in the first trimester. There's been some exciting things happening in our building over the last few weeks. We had pumpkin math in first grade, acting out a play for language arts in 4th grade, and celebrating Dia de los Muertos in 3-5 grade, and much more! I hope you enjoy the pictures below to highlight these fun activities.
We also had our first PTA trunk or treat last weekend and it was a huge success! Thank you to all families who participated by decorating your cars and all the families who came to get candy.
We hope you have a great week!

Cloverdale Mission Statement
The Cloverdale Building Leadership Team, with input from our staff, created a new Cloverdale mission statement. We introduced it to our students last week and we will be adding it to our daily morning announcements. When discussing what we wanted it to be, we really focused on characteristics we want our students to have when they leave Cloverdale. We also wanted it to reflect our values as a staff.
At Cloverdale, we are an inclusive community of honest and self-motivated learners. We are respectful, responsible, and safe.
Coyote's Den
We are excited to start something this year called Coyote's Den. Coyote's Den is a once a month activity where students mix up into different grade level groups and all participate in the same SEL lesson with their den leader. We have had two Dens so far this year and we are really enjoying the relationship building that is taking place during these lessons.
Notes from our Nurse
There has been a rise of pertussis (whooping cough) cases locally and nationally! Please review this fact sheet from the DuPage County Health Department for more information on what it is and how to stay safe.
As a reminder of our general health policies, students who are experiencing a fever, diarrhea, or vomit, must be symptom free for 24 hours without medication in order to return to school. Additionally, any child out for more than three days should have a doctors note to continue to be excused.
PTA
November 14th is our MOD pizza fundraiser! Dine at MOD and PTA will receive a portion of the profits from the day!
