Office Reminders
Office hours are 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
- Tardy Bell rings at 8:25 am
- Breakfast is served from 7:45 am - 8:25 am. Please encourage your student to eat breakfast at school each morning.
- Breakfast and lunch is free for all students at Brown Elementary.
- Make sure you are keeping your email, phone number and address up to date with the school. We do a lot communication through email. You can update your information in your Parent Harmony account or call the office.
- A parent must come in to the office to sign in any student who arrives after the tardy bell.
- All visitors must sign in the office and wear a visitor's badge.
- Early dismissal is not permitted, unless student is leaving for an appointment.
- Please call the office before 2:30 pm to notify the office for way home changes.
Cold Weather
Please make sure you are dressing your student appropriate for the cold weather. Students need to wear coats, hats and gloves when coming to school. Students go out to recess when the feels like is 20 degrees or above.
Make sure you are signing up to receive weather alerts for school delays or cancelations and make sure your contact information is up to date on Harmony. SCSC uses school messenger to notify parents via phone call or email.

Inclement Weather Options Explained
Nurse Notes
Kindergarten students are required to have a dental, vision, and physical exams before starting school. Please send those records to the school or make an appointment if you have not done so already.
Please pack extra clothes for younger grade students in case of an accident or spills.
Vision/hearing referrals have and still will be sent out. These must be addressed and returned to the school. If vision appointments are made, please call the school and let the nurse know.
Ensure that required immunizations are current and consider the annual flu vaccine before the return of school in January.
Teach your child the importance of handwashing and refrain from touching their eyes, nose, and mouth.
Remember students need to be fever free without medication for 24 hours prior to coming back to school.
If your child is sick or has a temperature of 100.4 degrees, please keep them home. Contact the school office to let us know.
Make your child's health concerns known to the school nurse. Also, notify the school nurse if any new health issue arises with your child during the school year.
Bring current, signed healthcare provider orders for treatments and all medications to be given at school. All medications must be brought in by the parent/guardian and must be in the original container.
All medication to be given at school must have a signed consent form. This includes cough drops.
We will communicate your child’s visit to the nurse's office through Harmony. Please check your emails daily and make sure your email is up to date.

Holiday Positivity
Brown Elementary celebrated spreading Christmas cheer with our Holiday Positivity Tree! For the last 2 weeks of school before break, staff members made phone calls or sent home positive notes about students! For every positive note, there was an ornament put on the tree.
