Due to the extreme temperatures on Wednesday and Thursday, our gym was not suitable to hold our planned assembly today. We will be holding that assembly on Friday, Sept. 1st using this bell schedule.

Our Activity Buses in the past have picked up students on the Hart Road side of the building, and are now using the normal bus location on the north side near door 24.

Please do not drive around the school and wait for students in that area as you may have done in the past. All student drop off and pick up is on the Hart Road side of the building.

Thank you for your cooperation in working through these changes.

As many of your are aware, we had major construction at BHS over the summer! The following projects will be completed for the start of the school year:

• Parking lot reconfiguration
  
  

• The new athletic/physical education wing of the high school has a new auxiliary gym, weight room, fitness center, and dance studio.
  
  

• The new dedicated Student Services area is now located on the lower level of the building. This includes counseling, attendance, health services, attendance, and the dean's office. This new area will improve the student experience by making it easier for students to access these services in a central location.
  

Construction continues this month in the following areas of the building:

• Construction is underway on a new state-of-the-art culinary arts lab that will be located near the coffee bar in the former commons area. This is anticipated to be ready in October. Click here to view video!
  
  
• Construction continues on the new front atrium addition, which will be a commons area that serves as a flexible learning space, as well as a place where students can eat lunch, meet in groups or work on individual projects. Please join us for our monthly PTO meetings. All meetings will be held on the second Monday of each month beginning at 9:15 am in C271 at the high school unless otherwise noted. The first meeting of the school year will be Sept. 11, 2023

The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority and we commit to offering a safe

and secure educational environment. Barrington 220 is now partnering with an Illinois school safety helpline aimed at providing students a place to report information that might prevent bullying, suicide, and campus violence. Safe2Help is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. It allows students to confidentially share school safety issues via a mobile app, text, email, or phone call. You will notice that the "See Something, Say Something" button on our district and school website now links directly to the Safe2Help contact page. We are asking that all students, parents, staff, and community members now use this platform to report safety concerns. In the case of an emergency, call 911.
