Post High School Plans Presentation
Starting Week of September 16th
Counselors will be visiting 12th grade Social Science classes (Civics, Econ, AP Gov) to go over Post High School Plans.
Sept. 24, 5:30 pm via zoom
Seniors who don't have a Social Science class this trimester, and parents who would like to hear the information can join the same Post High School Plan Presentation via zoom.

- Get organized- create a google sheet college list like this.
- Attend one of our FREE College App workshops!
- Ask your parents to fill out the Student Aid Index Calculator
- Schedule your individual meeting with your counselor to discuss your plans/list/process.

October:
- Work to finalize your college application list - Your counselor can help!
- Start filling out applications. Counselors are here to help!
If Colleges you are applying to require letters of recommendation, use Common App!
- Contact your teachers and ask at least 2-3 weeks prior to application deadline.
- Assign them as recommenders in your Common Application account.
- Fill out the Letter of Recommendation Student Survey
November-December
- Continue filling out applications
- CSU Application Deadline-November 30, 2024
- UC Application Deadline-December 2, 2024
- Fill out FAFSA as soon as possible. Remember you are applying for FALL 2025
- Double check all application deadlines!
- Optional: Send Score Reports from SAT or ACT to colleges if you choose to report them.
- Take the ASVAB Dec 4th, REGISTER HERE!

The Free Application for Federal Student Aid is the first step in being eligible for scholarships to any post-secondary institution.

How Do I Send My Transcript?
- UC and CSU do NOT need a transcript as part of your application.
- Colleges that take The Common Application will receive your transcript as part of the documents your counselor sends. Enter your counselor's contact info where indicated in your Common Application account.
- Community Colleges do not need a transcript as part of the application.
- Other Non-Common App Colleges- may require a transcript as part of your application. If you need a transcript sent to a college that does NOT use Common App, you have two options:
- Electronic Official Transcript, order via Parchment (small fee applies).
- Hard copy sent via US Mail, Contact our Registrar at: srichardsonrios@powayusd.com or visit the Records Office in the Admin Building (no fee).
If you aren't sure if you need an official transcript as part of your applications, contact your counselor!
Pro tip: Refer to your unofficial transcript as you fill out your applications so you aren't trying to enter your course history from memory. To request a copy, contact our Registrar at: srichardsonrios@powayusd.com or visit the Records Office in the
Admin Building.
