Principal's Message
Greetings Elm Families,
Happy Friday! We hope everyone had a wonderful week! This week our Elm community participated in "letters of love" this was an activity sponsored by our National Junior Honor Society. The purpose of this activity is to spread kindness one step at a time by making cards to kids in hospitals to brighten their spirits. Elm Middle School had over two-hundred students participate, making hundreds of cards to be sent out! I'm so proud of our students for participating in such a wonderful activity to bring happiness to other. Great work, Cougars!
Don't forget! This Monday, October 28th, parent teacher conference scheduling opens. These conferences are such a beneficial meeting to be able to engage in conversations with your student and their teachers to see how we can continue our partnership to support our learners. We can't wait to welcome you on our conference days: November 13th and November 14th. Make sure to sign-up!
As a reminder for the dance tonight, this is a fall dance, attire should not be the students Halloween costume. We will save that for October 31st, additionally, students are not allowed to wear blow-up costumes to school. Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a fabulous weekend! #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld

Trimester 2 Academic Supports
Good afternoon Elm Families,
In the upcoming weeks, we will be reviewing student data to ensure that your students are given the appropriate level of academic supports throughout the day. The Elm Administration reviews, current grades, attendance, and NWEA Map data to explore the best options for our learners. Some of these options include Cougar Labs for Math or English Language Arts, in school support, and peer tutoring after school. We contend that 100% of our students will be successful, and we will examine all measures to make that possible. Thank you all for your continued support! Go Cougars!

Lost items
When a student notices an item has gone missing (calculator, pencil case, etc.) it is important to take the following steps:
-Check the lost and found (near band room)
-Check all of their classes
-Check in with the main office
If that item has not yet been found after taking those steps, they may contact Mr. Goodman for additional support. In addition, students MAY NOT take items from the lost and found that do not belong to them. This can be considered theft, and consequences can be issued.
