FROM THE PRINCIPAL'S DESK
Dear Edison Families,
October is a very busy month! In addition to celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, we are also administering Interim Assessments for 3rd-5th graders, conducting the Great Shakeout, preparing for Fall Festival, hosting a Halloween parade, hosting an altar reception for community dignitaries, and preparing for Parent/Teacher Conferences. All of this while still focusing on providing the best instruction possible in all subjects in two languages!
We wouldn't be able to do all of this without the incredible hard work and dedication of our staff and the unwavering support of our parent community. We are fully committed to our students and our mission and want to create a school environment that inspires curiosity, creativity, and belonging. We hope you and your child are feeling this.
I am pleased to announce that we have several upcoming opportunities for families to engage in our school community:
- Oct 22: Parent Volunteer Training, 6-7pm in Zoom - If you want to volunteer with students (in the classroom, on field trips), you must be volunteer trained. Attending this training will allow you to be eligible.
- Oct 31: Halloween Parade, 9-10am - Students dress in costumes, parents come to watch the parade on field.
- Nov. 1: Altar Construction, 9-3pm - Parents help set up the altar for their class in the cafeteria.
- Nov. 2: Fall Festival, 1pm-5pm - Our entire community, past and present, come together to make this event a success. Come enjoy this unique event with music, dance, food, art, and games.
- Nov 5-8th: Parent Teacher Conferences - Parents/Guardians meet with their child's teacher to establish themselves as a team to benefit their child. They will hear how their child is doing and how they can support at home.
We look forward to seeing and collaborating with you in the upcoming weeks!
Sincerely,
Directora Ipiña

Fall Festival Help Needed!
It's all hands on deck! The Fall Festival is one of our biggest events of the year and we cannot do it without the help of our parent volunteers. We are looking forward to collaborating to make this year's festival an event to remember!
