NEWS & ANNOUNCEMENTS
Singing: The students will sing for worship this Sunday, October 20. The service begins at 9:00 am. The children should be here by 8:40 am and meet in Miss Schmidt's classroom.
Volleyball: The Trinity Tigers will be taking on the Zion Lions this Tuesday in a volleyball match beginning at 4:30 pm. Let's have fans in the stands cheering on our Trinity Tigers!!
Fish Fry Social: Trinity Lutheran Church & School adults are invited to attend a fish fry at the Norwood Pines in Minocqua on Friday, October 25. Seatings will be offered at 5:30 pm and another round at approximately 7:00 pm. You will be able to order what you wish and pay via separate checks. Please RSVP to Matt Kock via phone or text at 715-892-3712 by October 24. We hope that many of you will be able to attend as this is a great opportunity to interact with others from the church and school family in a social setting!
Mark your calendars...Fall Speaker Event!: Trinity will be holding a Fall Speaker Event on Thursday, November 14. The presenter will be from the Aspirus Tick-Borne Illness Center. Dinner and childcare will be provided. Information is coming home this week as well as attached below.
Church Attendance: Every week, church attendance will be taken in kindergarten through 8th grade. Its intent is to encourage an active worship life in our school families. Please make weekly worship the highlight of your week.
Sunday School and Bible Class: Each Sunday following our 9:00 am worship service (10:30 am). Sunday School is for students in preschool through 4th grade. Bible Class is for 5th-8th grade, high school students, and adults. All are welcome to attend!
Midweek Chapel: Each Wednesday (8:15 am) throughout the school year, Trinity conducts a midweek chapel service. We encourage and invite all of our preschool and K-8 parents and families to join the students for this 15-20 minute service each week. This year’s chapels will center around the theme “Connected to Christ”. Our chapel offerings will be given to the Military Services Committee. This committee provides face to face ministry to WELS military personnel serving in the United States and Europe. They also provide resources for those serving on ships or deployed somewhere else in the world. To date, we have collected $129.81 for this ministry.
Lost and Found: If your student misplaces an item during the school year, be sure to check the lost and found shelf outside the office.
School Absences: If your student will not be in school on a given day due to illness, please either call the school office to leave a message or contact your student’s teacher directly. Only parents can excuse an absence; siblings cannot. A Notice of Absence sheet (available in the school office or online) needs to be filled out when an absence is preplanned. It should be returned to your student’s teacher prior to the absence. Thanks for your cooperation!

Mr. Habben - Grades 6-8
Good morning Trinity, here's what's going on in our classroom this week.
Memory Work:
Tuesday - Matthew 28:19-20
Thursday - Matthew 6:33
Friday - "Christ the Vine" Hymn #709 verses 1&2.
Math: 7th grade will have a math test on chapter 2 this Thursday (10/17). 6th grade will have their ch 3 test next Monday (10/21).
Literacy: 6-7th will have a quiz on chapters 7-9 of "Summer of the Monkeys" this Wednesday. 6-7 grade have a final spelling test this Friday. 6th grade will be learning from list #8 "Silent Letters", while 7th grade will be studying list #8 "Words with ie and ei".
World History: We will have the chapter 2 test this Tuesday.
Geography: There will be a quiz today on lesson 2-2, and a quiz on Wednesday on lesson 2-3. There will be a test on Chapter 2 next week Monday.

Spelling:

The final test will be Friday, October 18th.
Social Studies: Continue studying the Northeast states and capitals. The test will be in November.
Extra: Your child has picked out his/her forensic poem and has been practicing it at school. Please have your child practice it at home this week so he/she is ready for the forensic presentation on October 22nd.
Book orders are being sent home today. If you would like to purchase any of the books, please place your order online using our classroom code, QKJL3. All book orders are due Friday, October 18th.
Mrs. Habben - Grades 3-8 Science & STEAM
In 3-5 science we are learning about speed and energy and are preparing to make a marble roller coaster. There will be a quiz on lesson 2 Monday 10/21.
In 6-8 science we have started lesson 3.
Last week in STEAM we learned how to make butter and what our amazing postal workers do. Students wrote a thank you note to their postal worker. We will continue to learn about mail delivery this week.
Miss Schmidt - Grades K-2
God’s Time
Our theme this week: “God permits sorrows to enter a Christian’s life.” We will be learning about Joseph. In our first lesson (9A) we learn about how Joseph’s brothers sold him into slavery. Our second lesson (9B), we hear about Joseph’s life in Egypt.

We are singing in church on October 20th. 3K and 4K are singing Jesus Loves Me so make sure you try your best to attend. 4K is also singing Hymn 709 with the rest of the school.
4K will begin learning Matthew 28:20 which will be recited on Wednesday 10/23. Please go through this passage with your child at home as well. This last week 4K learned about fire safety from Minocqua Fire and bus safety.
A reminder for 3K that there can not be peanuts in the snack that is brought. Drop-off does not start until 12:15 pm and class begins at 12:30. Please make sure to let me know if your child will not be at school. This week 3K will be learning about fire safety from Minocqua Fire.
Because of the Teacher conference 10/24-10/25, there will be no school those days.
Picture day is also coming up on Tuesday, October 22nd.
