Monday is the 100th day of school! Many of our younger students have been learning to count to 100, skip counting to 100, and counting objects up to 100 as they practice their new skills. Join us in celebrating 100 days of learning as we celebrate the 100th day of school!
You might decorate a shirt with 100 things or dress as your future self at 100 years old. We can't wait to see your creativity!
Counselor Appreciation Week & FRC Appreciation Week
This week is School Counselor Appreciation Week & FRC Appreciation Week!
Thank you to Ms. Willis and Mr. Adams for the support they provide to both students and staff throughout the year. These two roles tackle so many behind-the-scenes barriers and issues as they work to provide resources to parents and students that will enable them to focus on school despite whatever else may be happening in their lives.
Thank you for having huge hearts that truly care for others and want to see others do well. You make LJES a great place for families.
Link your Kroger card to LJES
Want an easy way to support LJES? Link your Kroger Card to our school! Your shopping adds up and every purchase at Kroger earns money that is donated directly back to LJES. If you are not already linked to another organization, we would love to have you support our school this way. Follow the link below for steps of how to link your card to our school.
Lost & Found
Is your child missing a coat or jacket or sweater or any other items? Our lost and found is overflowing and we would love to reunite these lost items with their owners. We are sure they are very needed in these cold temperatures.
LJES is hiring!
If you are interested or if you know someone interested in this position, check out the BCPS website for the job posting and to see the requirements for this position.
If you have any questions, you can contact Mr. Mullins at daniel.mullins2@bullitt.kyschools.us.
We are a Title I School
What does it mean when you hear a school say that they are Title 1?
A Title 1 school is a school that receives federal funding to help improve academic achievement for students from low-income families.
How does LJES use their Title 1 money?
The funding has limitations on what you can do with it as there is strict accountability for those dollars. Typically, LJES uses Title 1 money to purchase classified staff who can assist students who are struggling in class. This year is no different; we hired 2 assistants to work with students in class and through pull out, catching up on learning gaps that are present. We also pay for part of our librarian's salary since LJES only qualifies for a part-time librarian. We want students to have access to books and library services all the time and believe a full time librarian will make that possible. Our librarian is also in charge of chromebook inventory and troubleshooting technology issues in the building.
