The Coelho community came together for a fun-filled night of basketball on Tuesday March 12th. Students in 5th , 6th and 7th grade played highly competitive mini basketball games leading up to the big event of the night: the 8th graders vs. the faculty game. During this even, the Coelho community paid tribute to Olivia Knighton. Staff sported teal shirts with the initial OK on them, her family started the game with an honorary opening tip-off, and her father, Brad Knighton, hit a memorable and meaningful half-court shot. We would like to thank the Coelho PTO, staff, students, Coelho families and most of all, the Knighton's for their dedication to making this night one that will never be forgotten.

Back by popular demand, the Coelho Middle School Color Run is back..... We will be kicking off the event with an assembly for students on March 28th and holding the event on May 17th, in which families can come view the event live......

Last time the color run was held we set a goal of $25,000 and we exceeded the goal by raising over $35,000. The goal of the Color Run this year is to raise $40,000 dollars and the proceeds from this event will go to the following:

• Field trips for students
• Guest speakers and special events
• Technology in the classroom
• Updating the furniture and aesthetics in the library
• Donation to the Olivia Knighton Foundation https://www.oliviaknightonfoundation.org/

Please consider helping out and volunteering as we are looking for people to help with the following:

• Helping and volunteering the day of the event.
• Corporate donations and sponsors and signage. (Platinum, Gold, Siler and Bronze Donors)
• Organizing prizes for students
• Collecting raffle items to auction off.

On Wednesday, April 10th Coelho will be having a Van Gogh inspired paint night for students and a special adult in their life! Everyone will leave with their own painting on canvas! $10 per person from 6-7:30 pm. Space is limited to the first 50 to sign up. The last day to sign up is April 8th. Pick up permission slips during lunch.
