Aligning Early Dismissal for Better Learning
Allegiance STEAM Academy is committed to continually improving your child's education. We're currently evaluating our school calendars, specifically the weekly early dismissal days used for staff planning and development.
Why the change?
Our two schools currently have different early dismissal days (Fontana on Wednesday, Chino on Friday). To find the best day for staff collaboration and ultimately, better learning, we'll be aligning the early dismissal day for both schools in the 2024-25 school year. This means one school's early dismissal day will change.
The decision to evaluate aligning our minimum days is based on data collected this year to see which day works best for staff professional development and ultimately benefits student learning the most.
Your input matters
We understand this change may impact families and staff. To gather your feedback and ensure a smooth transition, we're holding town hall meetings for each campus:
- Chino: April 2nd, 8:15 AM & 6:00 PM
- Fontana: April 3rd, 8:15 AM & 6:00 PM
What to expect:
- Learn about the rationale behind aligning early dismissal days.
- Hear about the pros and cons of Wednesday vs. Friday dismissal.
- Share your thoughts and ask questions about the proposed change.
We encourage you to attend and share your thoughts! Staff will consider all input before proposing a formal plan.
Here's the timeline:
Opportunities for input and comment:
- April 2nd and 3rd, 2024 - Town Hall Meetings
- April 8th, 2024 - Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors: Discussion and vote on the proposed early dismissal day.
- May 6th, 2024 - Regular Meeting of the Board of Directors: Discussion and Vote on the proposed 2024-25 school calendars.
We look forward to working together to strategically align early dismissal days for student success!

Dear ASA families,
Complete the Meal Application to assist with maximizing LCFF funding. A portion of every school’s funding and other resources are determined by certain characteristics of its students, one of which is need. To assist in demonstrating that need, all families at ASA are requested to submit a completed Income Survey Form, to be made available on our site.
By completing the form, you will help our school reach the goal of maximizing funding to support our students’ academic successes and creating equitable learning environments. If you have any questions regarding this information or about the school meal program, contact Food Services via phone or email.
For the 2023-2024 school year, meals will be served at no cost to the students regardless of their eligibility
