LMS Spring Choir and Band Concerts
LMS Music Dept. is going to be holding their Spring Concerts on May 14th. The choir concert starts at 5:30pm and the band concert follows that same day immediately after at 7pm. Please come out and support music in Lunenburg along with all the wonderful student musicians who've been working hard to make this night possible!
Guest Speaker - Stop The Hurt
LMHS will host a guest speaker for students in grades 8, 9 and 10 on awareness and Interrupting Racial Microaggressions. Here is a brief description on the topics that will be covered.
Students will learn the definition of Racial Microaggressions. For some students, this
will confirm their experience and provide them with language to accurately describe
their experiences. For others, it increases their awareness and knowledge of this
unfortunate reality. All students will learn appropriate interruptions and
counter-narratives to produce a more equitable community. Students will have an
opportunity to raise questions and discuss challenges in real-time.
LMS Fairy Tale Dance
LMS will host an end of the year dance for students in grade 6, 7 and 8 on Friday, June 7 from 7-9 PM. Tickets are 10 dollars and snacks will be available.

The night starts with the AP and Honors Art Show at Smokestack Roasters from 4:30 - 6:00 pm. Experience their visually creative work while enjoying a live performance from the LHS Jazz Ensemble.
Afterwards head over to the LMHS Auditorium for a 7:00 pm performance of Medea by the LHS Drama Club. It’s the last play of the year and you won’t want to miss it.
Can’t Make it on the 24th? The AP and Honors Art Show will be on display at Smokestack Roasters from May 19th - June 8th. Additional showings of Medea will take place on May 23rd at 7:00 pm and May 25th at 3:00 pm.
Washington DC
As the trip approaches (only 11 more days!), we are finishing the last few tasks to get organized for departure. The link to the spring meeting slideshow is here. In it, you will find the name of our hotel, a packing list, and other pertinent information.
Students should be at LMHS at 5:45am on Tuesday, May 21st. They should have one small suitcase, one backpack, and 12-24 water bottles. Buses will pull out at 6:30am, and we need that time to get organized into chaperone groups and take care of details. Here are some important information about that morning:
Leave suitcases outside by the table with your bus number
Bring backpacks and water inside the cafeteria and find your chaperone group
Have breakfast either before arriving, or to bring on the bus
ONLY WATER is allowed on the bus - coffees and other drinks must be finished before boarding
Medications and doctor’s orders should be dropped off by a parent/guardian to the nurse’s office by May 15th. No medication or orders will be collected on the morning of departure. Please contact Elizabeth Schatia (eschatia@lunenburgschools.net) with any health/medication questions.
We still have a few families that have not submitted the handbook form, which is a requirement for the trip. Below are the instructions for signing the Student/Parent Handbook Google Form and submitting it. The whole process takes about 5 minutes.
Go to the LMS website at lunenburgschools.net
Scroll down to "2023-2024 School Year Information" link
Click on "Back to School Information and Forms"

Thank you to everyone who volunteered to provide bus snacks. Please drop off your donated items to the middle school front office, labeled “Washington DC,” by May 16th

LMHS LIBRARY DIGITAL RESOURCES
The library offers many digital resources such as research databases, ebooks, audiobooks, citation creation and digital notecard/research organization tools. Links to these can be found on the library website: https://sites.google.com/lunenburgschools.net/lmhs-library-media-center. The databases are grouped by subject areas to make navigating the many resources easier. Databases work automatically within the school building, but passwords are needed for home access. The database passwords are accessible from any database page on the library website - look for the blue banner at the top of each database page. As long as a student is logged into their school Google account, clicking that link will open the list of usernames and passwords for all of the databases offered through the library.
Mrs. Vallee is available in the library and by email at pvallee@lunenburgschools.net for any student needing help finding a book, researching a topic, using the databases, or creating citations.
OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOKS
Reminder to all students - overdue notices are sent to your school email every Tuesday morning. If you need to keep the book longer for a project, just reply to the email that you’d like to have it renewed. We do not charge overdue fines, but books do need to be returned as part of senior obligations and if leaving the district/applying to Monty Tech. Don't forget you can log into your Destiny accounts any time to see which books you have checked out and when they are due.
Click the Library Media Center link on the LHS or LMS website
Choose Destiny Discover from the side navigation
Click login in the upper right corner. Your user name is the beginning of your Google account (2027MaryB) and your password is the same as your Google account (such as meb127999).
Check your lockers, cars, houses and classrooms for those books. Please get those overdue books in ASAP so that others can enjoy them too!!!
You can return books to the library or place them on the Return Cart outside the front office. See Mrs. Vallee in the library or email her at pvallee@lunenburgschools.net if you have any questions or need help renewing books. Thank you!!
Chromebook insurance
K-12 Tech has offered an extension to signing up for insurance for your Chromebook. You have until October 13th to purchase the insurance. This will be the last opportunity for this year. Unfortunately, this insurance will not cover any damage incurred prior to the purchase date. It is highly recommended that all families purchase this insurance so they are not left with repair costs.
