Dear Families,

We are excited to announce that we will be welcoming Mr. Dwyer as a support to Medinah School District 11. With extensive experience as a former principal in Bloomingdale School District 13, Mr. Dwyer brings a wealth of knowledge and a strong commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging environment for our students, families, and staff.

Mr. Dwyer will serve as the paternity leave substitute for Mr. Boeing at MIS this winter/spring and will collaborate closely with our administrative team. His role will include working with students and teachers both in and outside of the classroom and being a visible, active part of our district on the days he is with us. Initially, Mr. Dwyer will be in the district 1-2 days per week prior to Mr. Boeing's leave of absence.

We look forward to the valuable contributions he will bring to our school communities and are excited for you to meet him soon!

• Students can be dropped off at school any time after 8:20 am.
• Please make sure to label your child’s coats, sweatshirts, lunchboxes, etc. We want to be able to get them back to them when they are left in the lunchroom and outside.
• If you are coming into Medinah Intermediate, you MUST bring a valid driver's license or state ID card to the main office before entering into the building
• Send a note to school or email the office and your child’s teacher if…..

· He / She has any daily pick changes

· He / She is being picked up by someone other than who is on the pick-up list

· He / She is leaving school early

· As always if your child will be absent, please call the office-630-529-6105.

• Please call the office by 2:00 p.m. for any pickup changes. On Early Dismissal Days, please call before 12:30pm. On Half Day Dismissal please call before 10:30 a.m.

• When dropping off your child after the start of the school day or if picking them up before dismissal please scan the QR code with your phone located in the vestibule window for the Student Sign-In/Out Form

MPS Crafting with Kindness Club is hosting a food drive to help families in need. If you would like to donate to our cause, please drop off any donations at the MPS Main Office.

This week's Teacher Spotlight shines on Mrs. Lauren Stromberg, an invaluable member of our third-grade team at Medinah. With 12 years of dedicated service, Lauren has contributed significantly to various leadership committees, always putting her heart into making Medinah a nurturing and effective school. As Mrs. Stromberg has engaging morning meetings, she fosters a positive classroom culture that supports learning and growth. Her kind, thoughtful teaching style ensures students are well-prepared for fourth grade. We’re also thrilled to share that Mrs. Stromberg is expecting her second child.

Healthy Snacks

Just a reminder please make sure your child brings a healthy snack every day. Examples could be fruit, granola bars, Made Goods, crackers, cheese sticks, etc……
