Credit Recovery Opportunities for Spring Semester

Our next credit recovery session is scheduled for April 22 - 26

Students must see their assigned counselor to register for credit recovery

• The purpose of credit recovery is to provide high school students with an opportunity to recover credit for selected courses previously attempted and failed with a grade between a 50 – 69 %.
• The course is designed for students to complete with limited or NO assistance from a local school monitor or teacher.
• Students must attend in person after school from 2:40 pm - 5:40 pm on the designated days for the session.
• If they finish before the session ends, then they do not have to stay after school.
• Students may work on their course anytime. This means they can work on it at home, before school, during lunch, or anytime it is convenient.
• Again, they must report to the assigned room the week they have signed up for, until it is completed.

Educational Tips For Parents

Mixing Alcohol and Cocaine

Abusing cocaine and alcohol together can produce mixed results – either the effects are intensified or your perception of drunkenness is decreased. This is because cocaine is a stimulant and alcohol is a depressant. Combining the two causes your liver to produce a toxic substance called cocaethylene, which can cause arrhythmias and heart damage, making it far more deadly than using either substance by itself. Project Know cites research that also suggests that combining alcohol and cocaine may also increase the risk of violent thoughts and behaviors. In addition to heart problems, other common side effects include paranoia, anxiety, stroke, nausea, vomiting, and seizures.

Family-School Partnership Advisory Council (PAC) Meeting

March 28, 2024 ~ 6:00 PM

Families are invited to join us in person at the GCPS Instructional Support Center (Grayson Room). During this in-person meeting, GCPS families will receive information about Title III Multilingual Learners, Early Learning and School Readiness, Homeless Education Program, Migratory Students, and the Foster Care Program. Families will have the opportunity to provide input on how these funds are utilized to support students, staff, and our schools.

This communications platform is designed to keep parents and guardians informed and encourage greater engagement and connection with your child’s school and Gwinnett County Public Schools. • ParentVUE allows parents to view schedules, grades, assignments, and more. Find the app on Google Play or Apple App Store and use the same email address and password as your Parent Portal account.
