West Hempstead Weekly Update
December 19, 2022
Students, Staff, Educators, Families/Guardians, and the West Hempstead Community,
It is customary to think back as the year comes to an end. We consider the glows, the grows, and what we could do again, as we say in eduspeak. This year, I believe that returning to "schooling" has made people more eager than ever to reflect. In light of this, we express our gratitude for all the ways you contribute to the RamFam. We have created strong bonds over the past few years.
Some of you might be looking forward to the new year and a clean slate. When we recall the beginning of the academic year, we are filled with pride and awe at the amazing things we accomplished for the district and our students.
Together, we have built on our collective strengths. We have created clarity from unknowns, continued solidifying a foundation for the future, and energized transformation and innovation. As a result, we are approaching the second half of the 2022-2023 school year and its challenges with a growth mindset and from a position of strength. We have given our students/children what they needed most - adults that care deeply about their success.
As we close the chapter in 2022 and embrace 2023, we encourage you to find the passionate commitment to see opportunities where others see roadblocks. To be unafraid of taking educated risks and living in the discomfort that learning brings. Growth can only come from change, and these past few years asked many of us to change in ways we could never imagine. 2023 will do the same, and your choices in the face of change make all the difference.
Whatever you plan to do and wherever you plan to be, we wish each one of you a happy and safe holiday season. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to your students/children. We look forward to seeing you in the New Year. Happy Holidays!
