Summer Camp July 2024

Happy Birthday America!

Please note that GEARS Kids Center will be closed on Thursday, July 4th in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. We have many families on vacation this week, have a fun and safe vacation. On July 5th, we are having a picnic lunch in the gymnasium. Children do not need to pack their lunch on this day. The campers are have been enjoying the various Traditions and Cultures this summer. The foods presented have been a big hit.

Looking ahead to the rest of the month, the children will be exploring American traditions, European traditions, Australian traditions, Canadian traditions and American Indian traditions. We had tentatively planned having a visit with a "Hershey Bear Hockey Player", I have not been successful in obtaining a contact. If any parent has a connection with the Giant Center and a hockey player; please share with me. A Hershey Bear Player and Coco would be outstanding to have them visit GEARS.

On July 10th all campers will be visiting the Pennsylvania State Museum. We will learn a bit more about our state we live in and also attend a session in their Planetarium. We hope to show the children more about the American Indians from this area as well as learning a bit of interesting culture of Native Americans. Children may bring money if they wish to purchase something at the Gift Shop. Please place money in a sandwich bag with your child's name on it.
