Practical Physics
Dear Siskiyou School Parents,
I hope everyone is well in these last busy weeks of our school year.
Last week the 5th grade completed their big Olympiad event here at Clay Street Park. A huge thank you to all the 5th grade parents for all their help and support and a big shout out to Mr. Alvarez and Ms. Glatte for preparing the students so beautifully and for organizing and holding the event.
This week we look forward to seeing the 3rd grade play; please join us Thursday evening or Friday morning for the performance.
We are also holding the 1st Grade Orientation Evening to welcome our new first grade parents to our school, as well as a Friday afternoon picnic to welcome our new kindergarten families to our school for the fall.
Next week we will have May Parent Teacher Conferences. See details below in the office section for sign-ups and child care information.
We are complete with the re-enrollment process and I’m happy to say that most of our current students will return for the 2024-25 school year. Thank you, parents, for all your hard work and for your commitment to giving your children this education at the Siskiyou School!
With much gratitude and lots of golden sunshine, Aurilia

Raven Class - Fifth Grade
It has been a very exciting month for the Raven Class. First was our successful production of The Oddessey . The class performed an incredible play. I am so proud of them! Two weeks after the class play was the Olympiad. Once again, I was so impressed. I am sure that heir athletic skills and moral character made the gods on Mt. Olympus smile!
I would like to take this moment to express my deepest gratitude for the Raven Class parents. They put so much work and effort into both of these events. We could not have done it without them. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
~Mr. Alvarez

Memorial Day Weekend: May 24 - 27 (Day passes available for Sat and Sun)
Come join in shared intention and thanksgiving for a special camping event near Hornbrook (a 45 minute drive from Ashland) celebrating the beauty and importance of the Free-Flowing Klamath River! We'll be gathering to offer our prayers, medicines, songs, and dances near the removal site of the Copco Dam, at the Deer Mountain Sanctuary. Together we will share offerings to support the healing of the Ecosystem, and celebrate the impact this healing will have on the cultures, traditions, and the futures of all relatives that depend on it. We have a weekend option, and also Saturday and Sunday are open for day passes. You can learn more HERE or contact Heddi at HeddiL@gmail.com or 707.280.7033.
Ashland Children's Theatre - The Odyssey (epically condensed) and Out of the Box
Ashland Children's Theatre presents - The Odyssey (epically condensed) and Out of the Box on May 17, 18, 19. Tickets available online only at www.ashlandchildrenstheatre.com. Written and directed by Eve Smyth, and included in the cast are Siskiyou School's own Adrian (6th grade), Azie, Layla, Miranda (7th grade), along with Kalila (8th grade) on the crew.
The Odyssey (epically condensed) is just that! Watch the "Epically Condensed Company" attempt to present the entire Odyssey, a story filled with gods and goddesses, terrifying monsters, storms and shipwrecks, cunning, courage, and heroic arts - in less than an hour. Will they do it? Come and see! (This is not your Siskiyou School Odyssey!) Out of the Box is a retelling of the Greek myth of Pandora's Box. Will Pandora's curiosity get the better of her? Or can we keep those evils contained this time? One thing is sure, Hope will prevail!
