Happy New Year from MSMS!
As much as I enjoyed my break (and hope you did too), it was wonderful to welcome and see the faces of our students and staff as they returned to school yesterday. Even those that were a little sleepy and slow moving.
This month we have a few things of note. January marks the time where we do some of our assessments of students to see how we are progressing both individually for students as well as trends. All students will participate next week in taking their RenSTAR testing in reading and mathematics.
We also have some visitors coming to MSMS next week. Our district is working with an organization to do an audit of our schools, specifically in Special Education, but it will also include how we support all of our students towards their learning goals. This Tuesday, January 10th, there will be a team visiting Main Street Middle School to learn about our school. They will be observing classrooms, interviewing staff, and we have some two student focus groups that will have a chance to share their thoughts and experiences. The only way to create a map to get where we want to go is to know exactly where we are. The information in this audit will help us find out the ways in which we can continue to work and grow!

It should be a great time for our 5th and 6th graders to have fun together and enjoy some extra social time! Contact Michelle Harper if you are interested in volunteering or donating food and drink!
Attention all 8th Grade Canada Travelers!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns about this payment, please do not hesitate to contact Bibba Kahn (elisabethk@mpsvt.org) or Ashley Dubois (ashleyd@mpsvt.org).
Additionally, the Solidarity Fair was a success, and we anticipate that we will be able to lower the cost of tuition for everyone. This adjusted amount will be reflected in the final invoice we send in mid-March. Merci and gracias for all of your help and support!
