CMSD Goes Red – Tuesday, February 14th on Valentine’s Day
All CMSD is invited to join as we “Celebrate the Heart of Service” and the 9th anniversary of the district’s Communicate with H.E.A.R.T. (CWH) program. The Communicate with H.E.A.R.T. customer experience program was initiated on Valentine’s Day in 2014. “HEART” was designed to improve service delivery and increase customer satisfaction with the CMSD experience.
Join in the celebration and help us spread a little HEART! The CMSD community is encouraged to wear RED on February 14th and share messages or photos of yourself, with your classroom and scholars, your school or office teams and upload them to the CWH Anniversary Celebration Padlet on Valentine’s Day. There will be CMSD/CWH “Swag Baskets” and Pizza Party giveaway drawings for Educators who join the celebration throughout the week!
To automatically be entered in the special “CMSD GOES RED” drawings, leave your photos and message on the Celebration Padlet and be sure to include your full name and school or work location. Don’t worry we will send an all CMSD e-blast reminder with the Padlet link on February 14th and photos can be loaded through Friday, February 17th to be entered in the drawing!

Customer Experience Engagement and Literacy Focus
Fellow educators, we hope that you will agree that nostalgia is priceless. Most especially during our adolescence. Some of us are motivated by those experiences to offer opportunities to our scholars because of our very own joyful memories. Recall, the best field trip that you ever had! This may be visiting downtown and experiencing sky scrapper buildings, or skating at the rink, or even viewing a movie with classmates.
Beginning in September 2022 the Customer Experience team committed to implementing monthly engagement opportunities for scholars at our 1111 Superior work location. The goal was to be a presence that shows and fosters a happy and healthy connection to our schools and scholars in a meaningful way. Thus, the Ombuds team connected with the Cleveland Public Library (CPL) and their Youth Services Department. CPL agreed to collaborate with us on this effort, through monthly visits at the administrative building to engage with our families. This includes reading to our scholars, engaging through a structured activity, or making sure our scholars know about library resources.
The experiences have been worthwhile. Imagine the joy when our CMSD scholars expressed, “This is the best day ever, or this is the best field trip ever!" We are sure that the students that have visited us so far, from Warner Girls Leadership Academy, Campus International, Clark, and Bolton, will remember the H.E.A.R.T that was shown from Central Office (as our fellow Educators are invited to take part) and the Customer Experience Team! Concluding each visit, the students are gifted a book of their very own and even small gifts.

The CMSD Welcome Center
The CMSD Welcome Center, located at 1111 Superior Ave., is open Monday through Friday to assist customers with enrollment and related functions (i.e., transcript requests). Enrollment assistance and services for preschool, Ombuds Office, Project ACT, School Choice and Enrollment and Special Education are all housed at the Welcome Center.
Customers are welcome on a walk-in basis or may schedule an appointment. The Welcome Center hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with the last appointment at 4:00 p.m. Please share this information with our families.
