Wee Deliver
Dear Parents,
Symmes Elementary is participating in the exciting program put out by the U.S. Postal Service called "Wee Deliver." This program is designed to provide children with real-life experiences through participation in an intra-school post office. The Symmes Post Office will be run by the students in Mrs. Wuebbolt’s third grade class during the month of May.
In order to make this experience as real as possible, your child will need to buy a stamp to send a letter. One original stamp design drawn by a Symmes student will be used in the Symmes Post Office. The stamps will be sold for a penny each.
It is possible for parents to write a letter to their children during the time the post office is running. Parents can send in a penny with a completed letter with the child. The classroom teacher will ensure that the letter gets a stamp and is placed in the mailbox.
There are three main ways you can help us. First, we would appreciate it if you would give your child the opportunity to earn the money he/she needs to purchase his/her stamps. Secondly, please encourage your child to write letters.
Last, please send in extra envelopes and/or stationery.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the PTO for covering the cost of printing the stamps.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Wuebbolt

Greene 101: Preparing for a Great Start at E.H. Greene
Greene 101 is a unique and exciting opportunity designed to help incoming 5th-grade students build the foundational skills they need to thrive at E.H. Greene Intermediate School. Led by a team of dedicated teachers, this one-day program focuses on developing essential skills such as organization, study habits, collaboration, problem-solving, technology use, and critical thinking.
Through a variety of engaging, hands-on activities, students will strengthen their independence, responsibility, and confidence as learners. They’ll also have the chance to connect with peers, get to know Greene’s school culture, and begin building a sense of community—before the first day of school.
With students coming together from four different elementary schools, Greene 101 is designed to ease the transition and help reduce the natural anxiety that can come with starting at a new school. Our goal is to ensure every student feels connected, confident, and excited to begin their journey at Greene.
Session Information:
- Students can attend one session on either Thursday, August 7 or Friday, August 8.
- Each session runs from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
- Students should bring a packed lunch.
How to Register:
Visit the Sycamore Schools website, click on "Academics" at the top of the homepage, then select "Summer School." The registration link for Greene 101 can be found in the catalog links.

News from Our PTO
Symmes Spotlight
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all the parent volunteers who helped make the Symmes Spotlight program a success! Your time and effort in interviewing each student and capturing their unique interests, character, and activities brought this program to life in such a meaningful way.
We want to recognize and thank the many parents and family members who made an effort to join their child at lunch as part of the celebration. Whether you took time off work or rearranged your day, your presence helped make your child feel seen, valued, and truly special—and that means so much.
We are also incredibly grateful to Mrs. Ralston and Dr. Richardson for meeting with each student, reviewing their certificates, and handing out special prizes. Your support and enthusiasm truly made each child feel seen and celebrated.
Thank you all for helping us shine a light on what makes every Symmes student so special!
Warmly,
Jen Hoeck & Margaret Mathur

We are looking for volunteers to help with the students out on the track each week!
Lunchroom Helper
We are SO excited to invite you to join us for a special volunteer opportunity during the 4th quarter of the school year – Lunch Duty! This is a fantastic chance to see your children and their friends enjoying lunchtime, and to help us create a smooth and happy experience for everyone.
