MUSTANG "ROUND UP" - UPDATE TO TUTORIAL
WHS will start the "Mustang Round-Up" on Tuesday, November 5.
Here are some details:
- Tutorial announcements will begin next week letting students know they have to be in a classroom during tutorial by the bell otherwise they will be sent to the "Mustang Round-Up" in the MPR
- A GLC will scan students in and an email will be sent to parents/guardians
- All students in "Mustang Round Up" will quietly work on something in the MPR. It is not a hang out time! We really want our students to focus on finishing homework, getting extra help, and using that time during the school day to get ahead.
Note: Tutorial takes place most Tuesdays and Thursdays after second block. During this time, students report to their academic teacher for additional support. Tutorial at Walnut High School is a 50-minute block of time built into the school day twice a week to focus on intervention and academic support. Please reinforce the importance of maintaining good grades and using every opportunity offered to do so here on campus.
FRONT OFFICE LobbyGuard Visitor Identification System - NOV. 1st ROLL OUT
To further safeguard the safety of your child we will be implementing a new visitor management system to ensure that individuals visiting our campuses are authorized to do so. WVUSD will be replacing the paper visitor sign-in sheets with the LobbyGuard Visitor Management System in the near future. You will continue to be required to present your identification to the office staff. . It is important to note that the LobbyGuard system only scans the visitor’s name, and date of birth with the national database of registered sex offenders. Our goal is to continue to provide a welcoming and warm environment for our parents, teachers, students and staff while simultaneously communicating a culture of safety and security to the community.
Accepted forms of identification are as follows:
• Any state issued driver’s license or identification card
• Matricular Consular card
• Military ID (active duty or retired)
• Permanent resident card
