Readers are Leaders
Make a Literacy Resolution: Readers are Leaders welcomes in 2025 with a great this great New Year’s resolution. Consider reading with your child every night this year. You could read with them or your own book. Children love to model what their parents do, and there is no better way to encourage your child to read, than for them to watch you read!!
Ms. Karen Ciampa is featuring the work of Paul Klee and James Rizzi to show students how to build a City Scape using only geometric shapes (as they build their own Literacy foundations.
Speaking of Resolutions, Olivia C., a second grader, wants to read 20 Chapter books this year!
Let me know if your child has made a literacy resolution. I can highlight it in the Newsletter.
Other resolutions include Miss Baylee, 5th grade ELA teacher, who has a great reading Challenge going on right now, ask your 5th grader what it is!!! Many other teachers have Literacy Challenges right now. Don’t forget, we have Celebrate Literacy Week, Florida is coming up, January 27 – 31st. The theme this year is Constructing the Foundation for Success. Check this Newsletter for more information.
There are many types of literacy – reading comprehension, financial, digital, media, Numeracy, and so many more. Students investigate a variety of literacy skill outside the Media Center.
SRRA (Superintendents Remarkable Readers) award that many students have been working on all school year, continues until April. A good resolution would be to encourage your child to continue working strong towards this goal.
