Dear Families,

As we wrap up these final weeks of 2024, I wanted to take a moment to celebrate our remarkable students and their achievements. Their growth has been awesome to witness – from their confident performances in our winter show to their creative endeavors in art and ceramics, from their dedicated work in the classroom to their enthusiasm during our Top Trojan Gatherings. Each student has shown incredible engagement that makes our entire staff beam with pride.

The joy and energy they bring to our halls every day remind us why we love being educators. Their accomplishments in academics, music, art, and various projects have created a wonderfully dynamic learning environment that continues to exceed our expectations.

I want to extend our heartfelt gratitude for your generous Christmas cards, thoughtful gifts, and kind messages. Your support means the world to our staff. Special recognition goes to Jeff Robertson for his exceptional photography skills – I've attached numerous wonderful photos that capture the precious moments of our winter performance (though I apologize in advance for the abundance!).

As we approach our winter break, I hope each of you finds time to rest, recharge, and create amazing memories with your loved ones.

Next, complete the Google Form Session Sign-Up aby following the link. EdVenture Time Sign-Up - Winter-Spring 2025 We have several options, and want to ensure that each child tries something new. That said, no repeat sessions unless a slot is available after January 12, the sign-up deadline.

We are still glowing from the success of our winter performance, "What A Wonderful Winter World". Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special evening. Your presence and support meant so much to the students and staff. The packed auditorium created such an exciting atmosphere for our kids, who truly shone on stage. From the sounds of the recorders to the skillful keyboard performance, from the heartfelt singing to the energetic dance numbers, every moment showcased the hard work and talent of your children, our staff and the MPC. I've attached some photos from the evening that capture its magic. We hope you enjoy them. A special thanks goes to our dedicated program coordinators, Sarah, Sally and Darby, whose ideas and hard work made this performance possible. Events like these remind us of the incredible community we have and the importance of arts education in our students' lives.

Thank you again for your continued support of our winter program.

The Boys Basketball Team is rolling. This week they defeated Valley Springs Elementary School. It is a special team with a ton of work ethic and talent. We look forward to seeing folks at the games when we return from break.

At today's Top Trojan Gathering, we had a special visitor, Santa! We also did the Santa Dance and gave out some great prizes. Most importantly, congratulations to our December Top Trojans.

Unless otherwise notified, all meetings are held on the third Wednesday of every month at the District Office. Until further notice, the Open Public Session will commence at 4:00 PM., and after roll call, agenda approval and public comment the Board President will convene to Closed Session. Open Public Session will re-convene at 5:30 PM.

Ms. Klassen and class worked with Mr. Savaso, their STEM teacher, on engaging projects like engineering marble runs and coding train tracks. Mr. Savaso always brings excitement to his lessons through fun and innovative activities.

Important Reminders For Student Drop Off & Pick Up

• Children may only be dropped off and picked up in the Feeney Park parking lot.

Serious safety concerns have arisen, relative to the morning drop off line. If you want to walk your child to the stairs, please park your vehicle in a parking space. Do not stop your vehicle in the drop off line and exit the car to walk your child to the stairs.

• In order for a safe and speedy morning drop off, your child must remain in the car until

you reach the first place in line. Mrs. Martinez or other Michelson personnel will safely assist your child as he/she exits the car. Do not allow your child to exit your vehicle until you reach the first
place in line.

• All students must walk up the stairs to the playground. Remind your child not to climb

the hillside.

• All vehicles (except those bearing “Disabled” placards) are prohibited from entering the main

Michelson School parking lot to drop off and/or pick up children.
