The CareerRise Youth Team of Larimer County Economic & Workforce Development are hosting workshops and events that will help you get ready for your summer job search!
Spring Break Jump Start Your Job Search Workshop Series
- March 18 & 19 in Loveland
- Day 1: Personal Branding (10am to 12pm) and Resume Building (12:30pm to 2:30pm)
- Day 2: Financial Literacy (10am to 12pm) and Win the Interview (12:30pm to 2:30pm)
- Registration required as space is limited. Lunch provided to participants who attend full day sessions.

inCompass Fast Track program for Graduating Seniors 🎓
- About this program: 250 hour internshi tailored to intern's career interest. Receive support with your employment and educational goals through workshops, resume assistance, interviewing prep, and post-secondary guidance
- Pay rate & perks: $17/hr plus cash bonus for program goal completion
- Who's eligible: U.S. Citizen and Larimer county resident. High School senior on track to graduate.🎓 Low income, challenge to employment (teen parent, disability, IEP/504, foster care, past offender record, etc). Age 16-21.

Apprenticeships and Internships with TSD Innovative Technology Services
Earn while you Learn - IT Technician Apprenticeship
- About this apprenticeship: Earn while you learn by providing tier 1 technology support to school staff and students (clients) as an apprentice to ITS technical support technicians. Support consists of installing technology equipment and upgrades, troubleshooting, and resolving technical operational problems. Experience networking, inventory management, help desk ticketing, and more
- DOL Registered Apprenticeship: This apprenticeship is a competency-based Department of Labor Registered Apprenticeship.
- Complete the competencies of the position outlined in the training plan
- 2000 hours of on-the-job paid training. This typically is accomplished in 2-3 years if the apprentice is working part-time - 16-20 hours/week.
- Complete 144 hours of related training (employer provided or through college coursework)
- Certifications earned:
- One (or more) nationally recognized Comp TIAA certifcation, typically A+ Core 1 and 2
- Department of Labor Registered Apprentice Certification
- Schedule: These positions start in May 2024, but could begin in June if needed. This is a 2-3 year commitment. Apprentices typically work 12-16 hours per week during the school year during year 1 of the apprenticeship, and are able to work more hours during summer. Work hours take place Monday-Friday between 7am and 4pm. During the school year, Apprentices usually work a half day, 5 days/week schedule or work 2 full days per week with the block schedule.
- Starting pay rate & credits: $15.00/hour, 1.5 elective credits per semester
- Who's Eligible: TSD students only, rising Juniors and Seniors, must be 16 by summer 2024
IT Technical Support Internship - Provide IT Tech Support in your own school!
- About this internship: Staff a help-desk at your school and assist students and staff with technology issues including hardware, software, inventory, and more!
- Schedule: 1 or more semesters, during 1 class period. Opportunity for more hours during summer.
- Location: At your own high school!
- Pay rate & credits: Unpaid during school year, paid in summer. .5 elective credits per semester.
- Who's Eligible: TSD students only, grades 9-12. No experience necessary!
Summer Paid Internships in Manufacturing, Engineering, Graphics, STEM
The NoCo Manufacturing Sector Partnership and Larimer County Economic and Workforce Development are excited to offer the yearly summer youth internship program hosted by manufacturers in our region.
- 250 hours approximately from June through August, 2024
- $17/hour
- Open to students currently age 16-18, graduating seniors may apply. Open to students in Northern Colorado, not just Larimer County.

- Program located at Loveland High School - must provide your own transportation

Tierney Lain has joined Thompson School District to increase accessibility for TSD students to participate in learning opportunities above and beyond the classroom through Work-Based Learning experiences in the Pathfinder Program. Work-Based Learning is a continuum of activities that support the development of skills that all students can use to become active and contributing citizens.
