Professional Learning Opportunity
SWAYing Social Movements and the First Amendment
Join us for this day of professional learning to investigate movements pioneering use of the freedoms of press, assembly and petition to understand how our society has changed over time.
We'll also discuss the use of technology to support students projects as they explore the use today’s social media tools to create persuasion campaigns.
You'll have time to design lessons for student projects using free tools such as Microsoft Sway, digital timelines and Big Huge Labs.
Participants will also view a Newseum-produced documentary based on primary sources.
The day includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Participants will also be paid a stipend.
