I hope that everyone is having a great week! Thank you to those who volunteered at the Paws in the Park Fundraiser opportunity the past couple of days. We really appreciate the time you gave toward this program. I also want to remind everyone planning on going to New York to get your second payments in as soon as possible. The marching band is doing great as we continue to work on parade marching and music, and each ensemble has been killing it in the classroom. Thanks to all the parents as the time and dedication you put toward your student and this program is very helpful. - Silas

Hello, band families. I hope everyone is doing well! Thanks to the students and band parents who could help volunteer on Monday and Tuesday at the Paws in the Park event. We raised almost $1000 collectively for the NYC trip! Now it's time for the Dewey's store. Here's your friendly reminder to sign up for at least 2 shifts! I look forward to seeing some of you at volunteer training this coming weekend. Also, Emma Lucas' family food truck will be donating some of its earnings to the band at an event on the 20th. Come out to "Workout Anytime - Mocksville" near Walmart from 4-8 pm and help support the band program. - Sean

Class Reminders
The next playing test for classes is due on November 17.
Over the next quarter, we will continue working on All District Scales. Parents, for all students taking band for honors credit, they are required to audition for All District. You should hear them practicing their solos and scales frequently. My ask is 20 minutes a day.

The kid's goal should be the "100 Hour Rule".
20 minutes a day is all that it takes to make you better than 90% of the people doing the same activity.
20 minutes a day is equal to 121.6667 hours for the year. This is only 1.3% of your time in a year! Make the investment!!!
The closer you get to the 121.6667, the more fun music and band becomes!
