Extended Rehearsals

• 12:40-12:55 pm Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday
• If you need to be excused for that time occasionally for another club/school activity, please let me know at least 1 day in advance so I can plan accordingly or possibly help you do both things.

Students not marching a spot in the competition band

• Daily Drill and Technique with a director
• All-State Music Practice and Pass-Offs for a director

Working on memorized music including 1st, 2nd, 3rd movements of marching show.

• Flutes, Clarinets, Bass Clarinets, Saxophones, Trumpets, & Trombones will play their concert instrument in class. Marching instruments will be used outside.
• All reed players will use cane reeds during inside rehearsals (synthetic reeds are for outside rehearsals and football games only)
• Oboes & Bassoons will need their oboe or bassoon AND marching instrument in class
• Horns, Euphoniums, & Tubas will play their marching instrument in class this week

NEW- LOCATION CHANGE FOR AUDITIONS

• Region Jazz Auditions have moved to PLANO SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL. Date is still Wednesday, September 20th.
• The following students owe $11 for the region jazz audition entry: Evan Christianson, Luis Flores, Landen Johnson, Trey Mecham, Bradley Quartel, Tyler Reeves, Nikita Simonenko, Alex Steckler, George Wade, Ty Walker.

We will continue to learn new tunes, new scale patterns, challenge our improvisational skills, and listen to our all-state etude performances.

Drumline Shorties

• Add the first two drumline shorties

Part 3

• Front Ensemble - Continue to learn and memorize notes

Part 4

• Battery will continue working on Part 4

All-State and All-District

• Pass-Offs for Chunk 1 of each Etude
• Timpani and 4-Mallet focus this week - reference the learning schedule

If you still do not have a time slot for private lessons, Ms. Yoon still has availability.

*If logos/graphics are large, shirt can still be worn but you may be asked to turn it inside out

Class this week: Part 3 choreo! Continue to keep up with flag/rifle technique and spot clean Parts 1 & 2

• Bring all equipment to the gym EVERY day
• Do your homework! Make plans to visit your teachers/the testing center THIS WEEK. Do not wait until the last minute.
• You are responsible for taping on Part 4 flag ON YOUR OWN now. We will not take class time to do this one. Due to finish by Friday morning, 9/15. Plan ahead!

Wylie ISD has approved the school calendar for 2023-24. This includes a fall break; however, all athletic and fine arts contests, rehearsals and productions will still run during that week. Meaning, even though WISD has a fall break scheduled, there will still be a football game and contests. This means there will be rehearsals too. Below is our plan for that week, so if you are looking to go away some time, here are the dates we will have games, rehearsals and contests.

OCTOBER 5-14 Schedule

• Thursday, October 5 - Football Game (4:30PM-11PM)
• Saturday, October 7 - McKinney Marching Invitational
• Sunday, October 8-Wednesday, October 11 (4 days) - NO REHEARSAL
• Thursday, October 12 - Competition Marching Rehearsal 9AM-4PM
• Friday, October 13 - Competition Marching Rehearsal 9AM-Noon
• Friday, October 13 - Football Game vs. Wylie East HS - 5PM-10:30PM
• Saturday, October 14 - UIL Regional Marching Contest (advancement to Area Level)

1. Copy the URL for the Google Calendar you want to add to your iPhone
   
2. On your iPhone tap the Settings icon, then scroll down and select Mail, Contacts, Calendars.
   
3. Select Add Account and select Other
   
4. Select the Add Subscribed Calendar option, fill in the Google Calendar URL in the Server box and click Next. Change any settings you see fit before saving the calendar. You do not need a username or password.
   
5. Toggle your view of the subscribed calendar by opening the Calendar app and tapping Calendars in the upper left corner. Tap a calendar name to either display or remove calendar events.
