September Warhawk of the Month: Nehemiah 'Nemo' Raphael-Adams
Throughout the Summer, Nehemiah committed to rigorous training in preparation for the upcoming Cross Country season. He understood that running cross country would be challenging and taxing both physically and mentally. Nonetheless, he chose to join the team. Despite being new to the cross country team, Nehemiah has already demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship, humility, caring, and a strong commitment to being a great teammate. Anyone interacting with Nemo will immediately notice he is a good citizen. He exemplifies a positive attitude and unwavering dedication to the sport and the Bloomfield High School community. His impressive performance in the dual meets showed the fruit of his labor, making him a standout candidate for this recognition.
Nehemiah’s remarkable character and leadership qualities transcend the cross country course. As a high honors student, he consistently goes above and beyond to support and uplift his teammates. Most recently, three new student-athletes, including a GEMS student, joined the cross country team. Although he is a first year cross country athlete, Nehemiah has partnered with the students to introduce them to the culture of the sport, including weight training, running, and academic expectations. Nemo leads by example by maintaining high honors while participating in sports. He embodies what it means to be a student athlete and scholar. He treats everyone with respect and kindness. Thank you, Nemo for being a great sport.
