ANNUAL STUDENT REQUIRED UPDATE
Student Laptops:
To middle and high school parents:
This year all middle and high school students will be issued a school laptop to take home and bring back to school just like a textbook. Students will need to remember to charge their laptops before bringing them to school each day so they will be ready to use in class.
Rutherford County Schools offers a Protection Plan to cover any accidental damage or theft. Enrollment in this Protection Plan will alleviate the potential cost of repair and/or replacement costs that could result from accidental damage to your child's assigned device. The cost of the plan will be $20 per year. This is payable when the student is issued the laptop. Although you are not required to purchase the protection plan, parents are strongly encouraged to consider its benefits. If you choose not to purchase this plan, you will be held liable for the damage or replacement costs of the device just as with any school-issued textbook or resource.
Eagleville School highly recommends this protection plan. More information about this protection plan and how to sign up can be found in the links below. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us.

WORD CERTIFICATION
Students in Mr. Reed's class have earned their Word Certification!
Elementary Eagle Expectations with poster below.
We are in full swing of practicing our Elementary School Wide Eagle Expectations! Ask your student questions to see if they know the expectations in different areas of the school!
We encourage you to use familiar vocabulary at home to help make connections within their home, school and community!
They are also working hard to earn Class Dojo points when they follow these expectations. They have a chance at the end of every month to "purchase" rewards from the Talon Trolley with their earned points.
ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL PROTOCOL
Elementary Arrival Procedures:
School doors open for arrival at 7am. Students should not be dropped off before 7am and asked to sit on the benches. This area is not monitored by adults until 7am.
From 7:00-7:35am all elementary students are held in the cafeterias.
If a student needs breakfast, we ask that they are dropped off before 7:30am to ensure they have enough time to get food and eat before teachers pick their students up at 7:35am from the cafeterias.
The elementary drop-off area is in front of the main elementary building. Students in grades K-5 should not be dropped off at the main office area and asked to walk to the elementary entrance. With two car lanes by the main entrance, student safety cannot be assured.
Parents should pull all the way up to the first white-outlined vehicle space next to the Elementary sidewalk labeled #7 at the very end of the awning. This allows for more students to be dropped off on the sidewalk at one time.
Students should exit from their car if pulled up next to the awning all the way down the sidewalk, not just the first couple of spots by the entrance. This allows us to unload more cars each round.
The last arrival bell rings at 7:45am, and students should be in their classroom by that time. If a student is dropped off after the 7:45am bell, an adult has to check them into the front office.
Last important note- Due to the number of parents that drop off students between 7:30-7:45am, traffic can be at a standstill due to so many cars wanting to turn left when exiting the parking lot. All cars leaving the Elementary car rider line will be asked to turn right starting at 7:30am in order to keep the car rider line moving.
Elementary Dismissal Procedures:
The school day ends promptly at 2:45pm. Please make sure to arrive on time for pick-up.
Bus riders will be dismissed to the buses outside the Elementary entrance to load from 2:45pm-2:50pm.
Car riders will be dismissed to the Large Cafeteria. Starting at 2:50pm, student names will be called with the number their car will pull up to at the Elementary entrance.
Any Elementary student that will be transported home by a High School driver shall be picked up from the Elementary library and dismissed through the playground doors to the High School parking lot. The student picking them up MUST be the driver. Otherwise, Elementary students should be picked up in the car rider line.
We kindly request that all parents and guardians remain inside their vehicles during the afternoon car rider dismissal. Our dedicated teachers and staff members will be present to assist students who may need help getting into their cars. We understand that this might be an adjustment, but it is a necessary step to ensure a smooth dismissal for all our students.
To further facilitate this process, we urge you to take the time to practice with your child how to properly buckle their seatbelt. This small practice can go a long way in expediting the dismissal process. In the event that your child requires additional assistance with buckling their seat belt, we ask that you pull into the bottom parking lot to the right of the car line. This will allow our car line to continue flowing and avoid any unnecessary delays.
Only individuals listed on the authorized pick-up list in Skyward will be allowed to collect your child from school. If you need to update the list or make any changes, please inform the school office in writing or by contacting Mrs. Jill Deaton at deatonj@rcschools.net or Mrs. Laurel Davenport at davenportl@rcschools.net.
Any changes to transportation arrangements should be communicated to the school office in advance and no later than 2pm on the day of the dismissal change.
Lastly, only cars with an official Eagleville car rider tag will be able to pick up Elementary students. If the car does not have a proper tag, the adult will have to come into the front office with an ID.
We thank you for your help and patience as we try to prioritize student safety and maintain an efficient and orderly arrival and dismissal process. We appreciate your support in helping us provide a secure and smooth experience for all our students and families. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
NATIONAL ART HONOR SOCIETY
Calling all (current and former) High School Art students! If you are taking art this year or have taken it before, join National Art Honor Society! It is a great addition to applications and resumes. We meet together about once a month, make some cool art, and promote the arts in our school community. Dues are only $15. Please pick up membership forms from Mrs. Dickens and turn in forms and fees by September 20. There will be a before-school interest meeting in the high school art room at 7:15 on Wednesday, August 28. Breakfast snacks will be provided. Join us!
HOSA
The HOSA Club is collecting cans as a fundraiser again this year. Please dispose of your aluminum cans in 1 of the 5 recycling bins that are located in the hallways.
ATTENTION MIDDLE SCHOOL PARENTS
Per Rutherford County policy, elementary or middle school students cannot be dropped off at High School afterschool events including sports, without a parent or guardian.
