Dear Otay Ranch High School Community,

As we approach the final regular week of the fall semester before final's week, I want to take a moment to acknowledge the dedication and hard work that has brought us to this point. This is a critical time for our students to focus, prepare, and finish the semester strong. Final exams are just around the corner, and I encourage all of our students to do their very best academically.

To support your success, we have several resources available to help you thrive during this important period:

Extended Learning Period (ELP): Each day, students can take advantage of our Extended Learning Period for extra academic support. If you need assistance in a specific subject, I encourage you to request an ELP pass from your teacher and use this time to review, ask questions, or clarify concepts directly in their classroom.

Tutoring in the Library: For additional help, tutoring is available before and after school in the Library. This is a great opportunity to get personalized support in a quiet, focused environment.

I urge all students to take full advantage of these opportunities and resources. Remember, the effort you invest now will pay off during finals and set the stage for a successful end to the semester. Your teachers, counselors, and the entire Otay Ranch High School staff are here to support you every step of the way.

Let’s finish this semester strong, Mustangs! Believe in yourselves, stay focused, and remember that you have the power to achieve great things.

You’re invited to attend our AP Student and Parent Info Night to learn everything you need to know about Advanced Placement (AP) courses and exams! This informative session will cover:

An overview of the College Board and its resources.
Financial Aid information to help with exam costs.
Details about APTS, the invoice company we use for registration.
Important deadlines:
Late registration deadline: February 28, 2024.
Late exam requests must be made by April 10, 2024.
AP exam dates: May 5-16 (with late testing from May 19-23).

As we continue our academic journey together, we want to remind everyone of our cell phone use policy at Otay Ranch High School. To maintain a focused learning environment, cell phones should be turned off and stored away during class time, unless specifically permitted by your classroom teacher. This policy helps minimize distractions and supports our commitment to LEARNIG and academic excellence.

This policy is an essential part of upholding our core values of BLUE: Belonging, Learning, Unity, and Empathy. By following the cell phone policy, students demonstrate a commitment to their LEARNING and respect for the educational environment.

Students are allowed to use their phones during passing periods and lunch, but during instructional time, phones should not be visible or in use.

Remember, staying focused in class not only benefits your own learning but also supports the unity and belonging of our entire school community. Let's work together to create a space where everyone can thrive academically and feel valued.

To increase our efforts in ensuring the safety of our campus, we began issuing student parking permits at the ASB Finance windows (the ones that face the main office).

In order to get a parking permit, you will need to fill out the following registration form: Parking Permit Registration
(You must sign in with your Student Google Account)

After the form is completely filled out, you may come to the Finance windows and show your Valid Driver License. You will then be issued a parking permit that must be hung on your rear view mirror anytime you park on campus.

After a two week grace period, any car parked in student parking lots without a student parking permit will be subject to be being towed at the owner’s expense.
