Ms. Kelly Recognized at Maryland Association of Student Councils Leadership Conference
Students and Advisors from Calvert County Public Schools demonstrated outstanding leadership and service at the Maryland Association of Student Councils (MASC) State Leadership Conference, held March 11-13, 2025, in Ocean City, Maryland.
Calvert Association of Students Councils received the Advisors Hospitality Award for the 2nd year in a row. County Advisor Athena Lewis (Northern Middle School), School Advisor Desira Kelly (Plum Point Middle School) and Co-Chairs President Madelynn Kelly and Jordan Hayes (Huntingtown High School students) were recognized for leadership and service of Advisor Hospitality.
Desira Kelly received the Susan Nash Travetto Friend of MASC Award. Recipients of this award are those who contributed to the success and growth of the organization and its leadership team during any given year.
The annual MASC conference provides students with leadership training and networking opportunities. Special Education Parent Survey
Each year the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) surveys parents of children receiving special education services in the State. The purpose of the survey – The Maryland Special Education Parent Involvement Survey – is to hear from parents about how well they think their child’s school is partnering with them and promoting parent involvement in their child’s education.
Your feedback will help guide efforts to improve special education and related services in your local school system. Your voice can make a real difference for your child and many other children across the state of Maryland. To learn more, please visit https://www.mdparentsurvey.com
Fourth Quarter Reminders
WATER BOTTLES
We've had a significant increase in spilled juice and sugary drinks in our carpeted hallways. We are requesting students use water bottles with spill-proof tops/lids. Help us keep PPMS clean.
LATE ARRIVAL/EARLY DISMISSAL
When students are dropped off late or returning after an appointment, they can come in without an adult and sign themselves in. The parent/guardian does need to come in with them when signing the student out. The latest a student can be picked up for early dismissal is 2:45. Thank you.
ATTENDANCE
Attendance updates are handled by Mrs. Mongello, PMMS Guidance Secretary. Notes should be delivered to the Guidance Office (Gator Services) or sent to PPMSAttendance@calvertnet.k12.md.us
When your student arrives late or leaves early due to a Health-Related Appointment (Doctor/Dentist/Therapist, etc.): A note is required to code as Legal. Please send a note in with your child when they return to school or email a note to PPMSAttendance@calvertnet.k12.md.us
