Bashaw School wishes to welcome Kennedy Sieben as our new Grade 3 Teacher
We have a new Rebel! Please join us in welcoming Kennedy Sieben as Bashaw School's new Grade 3 teacher.
I grew up in New Norway and developed a passion for education early on. After graduating from high school, I took a couple of years to explore my interests before returning to earn my degree in Community Rehabilitation. I then attended the University of Alberta, where I completed my after-degree in Elementary Education.
In my free time, I love staying active—whether it’s playing sports, hiking in the summer, or skiing in the winter. I’m really excited to start my journey as a teacher in Bashaw and can’t wait to get to know all the students and community members!
Please update your address book to include Kennedy in your correspondence: kesieben@brsd.ab.ca
Farewell, and best wishes to Candice McLeod as she takes on the role of Principal at Gwynne Valley Rural Academy
Bashaw School would like to take a moment to thank Candice McLeod for her dedication, service, and leadership. Her commitment to our students, staff, and families has made a lasting impact, and we are truly grateful for her contributions. As she embarks on her new journey, we wish her all the best. Gwynne Valley Rural Academy is lucky to have her, and we have no doubt that she will continue to inspire and lead with the same passion and care.
On behalf of Candice,
Dear Bashaw School Community,
As I prepare to embark on the next chapter of my journey, I want to take a moment to express my deepest gratitude for the incredible experience I’ve had at Bashaw School. From the moment I walked through these doors, I felt welcomed with open arms, and it has been an absolute privilege to be part of such a warm, supportive, and vibrant community.
I have had the joy of working alongside an amazing team of educators and staff who are deeply committed to the growth and success of every child. I’ve been inspired by the curiosity, creativity, and kindness of our students, and I will cherish the memories of our time together.
To the parents and guardians, thank you for your trust and partnership. Your dedication to your children’s learning and well-being has been a source of inspiration, and I feel truly honored to have played a role in their academic journeys.
Lastly, to the entire community, thank you for making Bashaw School feel like home. I am leaving with a full heart, grateful for the friendships and connections I’ve made, and excited for the bright futures I know lie ahead for this remarkable school.
I wish all of you continued success, joy, and fulfillment in the years to come. It has been an honor to be part of this wonderful community, and I will always carry a piece of Bashaw School with me.
With heartfelt thanks,
Candice McLeod

Thank you to everyone who came out to our dedication service of the John Rock Memorial Park here at the school.
John worked as a custodian at our school for 25 years. He was a kind, caring, and compassionate presence, always going above and beyond to connect with the students.
