Malala Foundation
Our 8th grade humanities class is reading I Am Malala and doing a fund raiser for Malala's Foundation.
Malala and Ziauddin Yousafzai founded Malala Fund in 2013 to champion every girl’s right to 12 years of free, safe, quality education. Together our board, leadership council, staff and champions are creating a more equal world by making sure all girls can go to school. Malala Fund invests in education advocates and activists who are challenging the policies and practices that prevent girls from going to school in their communities.
We raised $200 dollars last year. Let's see if we can beat that this year!

Lead the Green Team
Looking for a new (environmental and garden-focused) club? Ms. Shannon is looking for a middle or high school student who would like to lead the formation (and oversight) of a new club—MEA’s The Green Team! Please see the image for some concepts involved with the club. We plan to meet at lunch on Wednesdays (except turn in weeks). Email Ms. Shannon with your interest and inquiries: sstewart@sandi.net
Dungeon Masters Needed
D&D Quest Club has exploded in the past few years and we are looking for a few interested students to lead a party of characters through a story of fantasy and adventure. To those who have yet to experience its magic, the Dungeon Master (DM) is not merely a game master or referee; they are the heartbeat of adventure, the weaver of dreams, and the guide through uncharted realms of imagination. With every word, they breathe life into the landscapes, the characters, and the challenges that await, painting a tapestry where players can weave their own destinies. If you are interested please reach out to Mrs. Keck at mkeck@sandi.net. We will be having a DM meeting on Friday, August 24 at 12:30 in Room 1.
ASB students will receive volunteer hours for their time as a Dungeon Master with D&D Quest Club.
MEA Economics
Are you a 9-12th grader curious about how money moves, how policies shape our world, how businesses make decisions, and how nations trade and collaborate on the global stage? Even more, are you seeking to showcase your quantitative talent, critical thinking skills, and passion for the social sciences on an international level, and even use your experience to earn college credit?
Join the MEA Economics Club!
A first-of-its-kind initiative, the MEA Economics Club seeks to harness the immense potential and interest for the study of Economics within the MEA student body. Weekly meetings will rigorously, yet interactively train members in the AP Economics curriculum, ultimately culminating in the selection of the four highest-performing and most interested students to represent MEA at the Harvard Pre-Collegiate Economics Challenge (HPEC) in April. Regardless of participation in the HPEC, all members will be exceptionally prepared to take the AP Micro/Macroeconomics exams in May 2025, and earn college credit through them.
There are many more details (including travel, funding, syllabus, commitment, etc.) that are too broad to be covered here, so if you’re interested in this opportunity, fill out this interest form to attend an information session we’re hosting on Tuesday, August 27th!
If you’re still on the edge, check out this Harvard Business School article that explains why Economics is so lucrative, and why it may be the right fit for you! Now, and in the future!

This is a valuable opportunity for student representatives, who have previously influenced school policies, launched destigmatizing campaigns, and fostered dialogue between teachers and students.
As the 2024-2025 school year approaches, we seek driven and passionate students from diverse backgrounds. Mt. Everest Academy students are encouraged to apply by completing this application by Saturday, September 7th: https://forms.gle/kPsa3BWaZirxNXMP9.
