Bordeaux Elementary School
Weekly Update - May 12, 2024
Dear Bordeaux Families,
Happy Mother’s Day to all moms, grandmas, aunts, aunties, big sisters, foster moms, and any other female who plays an important role in a child's life. I hope you had an opportunity to be celebrated and appreciated. Know that everyone at Bordeaux appreciates all that you do for your children and the Bordeaux community.
This last Wednesday was National School Nurse’s Day. We are so fortunate to have three people help fill this role at Bordeaux. Nurse Julia runs our health room along with Nurse Tara. They help deal with bumps, bruises, scrapes and illnesses. They provide some much needed TLC for our students throughout the day. Nurse Jenn works in our Adaptive Skills classroom and helps provide care for some of our most medically fragile students. She’s also willing to help out with other Bordeaux students and wherever she’s needed. Bordeaux is extremely lucky to have all three working here.
This Wednesday is our last early release Wednesday of the year. Students will be dismissed at 2:00.
Each PLC Early Release Wednesday, our specialists provide a reading celebration assembly for our students, which often includes songs and games. This coming Wednesday, we have an exciting opportunity for parents to come watch their students perform some of the songs that they’ve learned in music with the fabulous Mr. McNeill. It’s a tight schedule, so please arrive on time. Schedule and additional information is attached to the email.
Parents and guardians must enter through the side door on University Ave, at their assigned time. We encourage parents to silence their cell phones, and listen quietly to what our students have been working on this year.
On May 16th at 6:30 PM, The Reptile Man is returning to Bordeaux for an evening performance. Doors will open at 6:00 PM in the Bordeaux Gym. Admission is $1 per person.
It’s a busy, but fun time of year. As always, it’s a great week to be a Bordeaux Bulldog!
