Dollenger Says....
Greetings North East High Families,
Prom was last Friday, and was an evening to remember. Everyone dressed up for a night filled with fun, friends, food, and dancing. We hope that students remember this "Moment in Time." Congratulations to our King, Aiden Kozminski, and Prom Queen, Layla Woodie-Freas. Thank you to all the faculty and staff who made the night successful for all.
Interim for Marking Period 4 is on May 9; continue to check PowerSchool and Schoology daily to improve grades! Seniors will need to have all credits completed by May 22.
Graduation will be here in a little more than a month which is a time to commemorate thirteen years of schooling and acknowledge all those who excelled over their four years at NEHS. We look forward to celebrating the Class of 2025 on May 30!

We are excited to kick off our 2025 Teacher Appreciation Week starting May 5th!
A huge thank you to Finnegans Famous Food Truck, FBLA, Junior Class Council, Senior Class Council, Student Government Association, and our Action Club for making next week special for our educators.
See below for some of the wonderful things our students & families had to say about our teachers;
"He understands me, and he helps me with anything I need. I appreciate him. He is my favorite teacher."
"She helps me learn and grow, encourages me to do my best, and gives me comfort and confidence in my speaking. She makes me, as well as everyone else, feel heard and cared for. She also makes learning interesting and fun and is a teacher I’ll never forget."
"You believe in me more than I believe in myself; you always push me beyond my limits and help me grow. Thanks for making me continue to laugh and smile and making my love for music stronger"

General Athletic Information
If you are planning on coming to support our student athletes please know that all events in the stadium will be charged admission.
NEHS is still experiencing problems with the implementation of credit and debit cards electronically at sporting events for admission. The poor cell service has made consistent and efficient use problematic. Please continue to be prepared to pay cash just in case this service is not working on any particular game day.
We do not allow backpacks, pets, or outside food (when we offer concessions). Any student under high school age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. In addition, once you leave the event, you may not return. There is no smoking or vaping anywhere on school property regardless of age.
This past week, our AVID elective students took a field trip to visit the UMBC campus. While there, a staff member from the Office of Undergraduate Admissions and Orientation welcomed them and gave them information regarding UMBC admission requirements. Our NEHS AVID students also got to ask a panel of college students questions. A HUGE shout out to Ms. Jones, who put this trip together!
**Students who applied to be in the AVID elective for next school year will be notified of their acceptance beginning
May 12**
Attendance Matters
We are urging our families to please send the school notes for the days their student is absent. Our attendance secretary is Ms. Cara Reeves, and her email is cmreeves@ccps.org.
No Outside Food Deliveries During the School Day
Please refrain from having food/beverages delivered or dropped off to students during the school day. Deliveries will be turned away. We thank you in advance for your assistance in reducing the amount of disruptions to school operations.
Bus Notes
As a reminder, a request to ride a different bus home or to school is reserved for emergencies and will need approval of administration. If you are requesting permission for your child to ride another bus, please follow the steps below:
· A written note from both parents indicating the reason for the request
· Please include your phone number on the note
· Notes must be received by noon on the day of the request
· Phone calls cannot be accepted
Fees in Powerschool
If you see a “Fee” in Powerschool it doesn’t represent any monetary obligation. It represents credit for students who stayed for twilight to be applied toward their attendance. One day of attendance is recouped through 2 hours of twilight school attendance.
Unfortunately, Powerschool does not have a clearer way to record and process this information. Further, at times credit toward attendance may be given to a group of students due to significant illness outbreaks, weather, or other extenuating circumstances- such as FOX 45 announcing on February 6th that Cecil County Schools are closed for the day when they are not.
We wish there was a more intuitive way to record this information and apologize for the confusion this has caused. To recap, any fee in powerschool does not represent any financial obligation, but reflects a twilight credit toward attendance.
Hello North East Families!
We are the Action Club, an organization very similar to the PTA/PTO from the elementary and middle schools. Anyone may join our club (free of charge), but we are primarily a group of parents who work together to do all that we can to support and enhance the experiences for the students, staff, and local community of North East High School (NEHS). We are here to promote NEHS’s curricular and extra-curricular support for school-wide activities in an effort to improve school spirit, provide enrichment, and develop positive student, teacher, parent, administrative, and community relationships.
