Concord High School
Fall 2024- UPDATE
Principal's Message
It is hard to believe that we are more than half way through the first marking period. September was full of activities, including Spirit Week, Pep Rally, the Homecoming Parade, the Homecoming football game, the Golden Raiders Marching Band half-time show, and the Homecoming Dance. Our students and staff showed an incredible amount of school spirit. We had many alumni return for the Homecoming game. Raider Nation was in full force. I want to extend a huge "Thank You" to our Student Council, Class Boards, and our faculty advisors for all of their hard work. Please check out the pictures below.
Our fall athletic teams continue to stay competitive while displaying high levels of sportsmanship. There is still time to show your support by attending a home game for any of our fall teams. Please click the link below for Raiders Sports to see team schedules . Our CHS Athletic Hall of Fame celebration will take place on October 19, 2024 during half-time of the football game. If your child is interested in trying out for a winter sport, please check Raiders Sports for information regarding try-outs. As a reminder, a DIAA physical must be on file with the school nurse before a student can try-out. DIAA physical forms are available in the main office or online via our school website. Physicals are available through the Wellness Center.
Our student clubs and organizations continue to support our school community and our community at large through service based initiatives. Our student leaders know that in order to lead, they must serve. National Honor Society students are offering peer tutoring during the day in the library during study hall and every Wednesday after school. Interact Club continues to collect all of the school's recycling. Educator's Rising students are collecting sneakers. If you have any used or new sneakers, please send them with your child. They can be dropped off in the main office. Our Blood Drive was a huge success.
Our Theme this year is ALWAYS ON BRAND. Part of being "On Brand" is following necessary policies and procedures that support a positive climate and a focus on academic excellence. We are continuing to adhere to a strict cell phone policy. This allows students to focus on instruction without unnecessary distractions. Additionally, being on time for school and being in class on time allow your child to receive a robust education. Interim Reports were handed out on October 4th. If your child did not receive their report, you can access it through Home Access Center (HAC). If you need assistance accessing HAC, please reach out to Meg Brown, margaretb.brown@bsd.k12.de.us or call (302) 475-3951. We offer free tutoring afterschool on Wednesdays in the Library. If your student needs extra support, please have them sign up for tutoring.
