Maintenance and Custodial Department
They have worked incredibly hard all year, especially last week with their work on the pods. Make sure you say thank you to them when you see them throughout the building. They have a lot of projects upcoming and will be working very hard. Thank you, everyone!
Weekly Reminders
- Plans for this week have to be in Schoology by Monday morning for all classes.
- Discipline will require a referral, they are available in the office
- Doors can stay open for the first two minutes of class for 1st hour ONLY to allow for late arrivals.
- Co-teaching: Use each other and plan with each other. When evaluations happen we will evaluating teachers separately and not at the same time.
- If you are asked to be a part of a student's IEP conference, this needs to happen. In most cases you are present for a short period of time. The case managers try to have teachers present their information first and then can go.
- Ms. Kime needs two days of notice for 504 and IEP testing accommodations for ALL tests that are given. Students should not be arriving the day of a test without notification of two days minimum.
- TWO GRADES MINIMUM SHOULD BE IN OUR GRADE BOOK FOR LAST WEEK. SYNC!!!!!!!
- Follow the chain of command when communicating.
- REMEMBER OUR 90% PASSING GRADES GOAL.
- Pass out a paw-some ticket to your students that go above and beyond or those that you see doing an act of kindness or to those that are showing responsibility. They turn their tickets into the appropriate box in the cafeteria.
- MAKE SURE WE ARE RESPONDING TO EMAILS FROM OUR SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGISTS. THE INFORMATION THAT YOU PROVIDE IS NECESSARY FOR ACCURATE ASSESSMENTS.
Updated discipline responsibilities for administrators. Please provide the proper grade level person with referrals.
- Mike Worosz, 6th and 7th grade
- Brian Jennings, 8th and 9th grade
- Timberly Kinnie, 10th-12th grade
Moving forward, always take your device home with you in case we have to change to an eLearning day.
As you know classroom doors etc…are NEVER to be propped open. No student(s) are to EVER open a door for ANY adult and/or student. From here on out, if these cases were to happen, a write-up will be rendered (any questions, reach out).
Entering attendance and weather info:
- Absences cannot be changed in Frontline after 6:00 am. After 6:00 am, an absence will stay in the system and a sub will be assigned if applicable.
- If eLearning/School cancelation is called, nobody is to to come to the building unless otherwise stated by district administration. Hourly staff must input a personal day or loss of pay day.
- If a delayed start to our day is called, ALL staff are expected to report to work at the normal report time unless otherwise stated by district administration.
- EVERYONE should have their automatic sync set up in Schoology for ALL classes. If you need help with this, ask Marilyn and/or Kristina. It is unacceptable that grades are not synced weekly with a minimum of two grades per week. This is something we look at during evaluations.
Sub Folders
Mandatory for all teachers. You need to have your own that is left on your desk or in a known location to your department/team leader. This needs to include the following:
- Updated seating charts
- Detailed classroom expectations
- Emergency lesson plans...there should never be a classroom left without plans. Students will always have access to Schoology so it is always safe to have items there. However, there should be emergency plans for situations out of your control.
This is probably something that you all already have. Please make sure these items are updated and present. Thank you.
Accommodations
Make sure that all of your IEP and 504 students are receiving their accommodations in your classroom. If you have questions about specific IEP accommodations, email a student's teacher of record. If you have a question about 504 accommodations, email Mike Worosz. ALL accommodations are to be met daily.
