CHPS WEEKLY
Cherry Hill Public Schools October 20, 2024

A week of ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE
Good evening, CHPS!
Setting Goals. Mastering time management. Attending all classes. Developing strong study habits. All of these skills help our children strive for ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE is the demonstrated ability to perform, achieve, and/or excel in scholastic activities, and something we consistently focus on.
Here in Cherry Hill Public Schools, we are always working toward ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE by providing students with research based curricula that not only provides them an opportunity to address the required NJ Student Learning Standards (NSLS), but that is also high impact and engaging.
For the first year ever, all three of our middle schools put ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE on display as they each inducted students into the Junior National Honors Society. These students display an aptitude for ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE combined with being excellent school citizens.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE is front and center in the most recent NJSLA results. Take a look at the NJSLA presentation that was given to the Board of Education at their last meeting to see how we are trending in the right direction when it comes to academic performance and ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE.
Cherry Hill Public Schools has examples of ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE in our preschool program all the way through high school, and is at the heart of what we strive to achieve each and every day.
Sincerely,
Kwame Morton

CHPS Preschool Students Honor Local Veterans
In honor of Veterans Day, the Cherry Hill Public Preschool students decorated and created cards for Veterans. Some of these beautiful cards were shared with our local veterans at the Cherry Hill Police and Cherry Hill Fire Department, who continue to serve our community. Many of these special cards were taken to local veteran clinics in Marlton and Camden to brighten the days of those who served and sacrificed for our country.
The Cherry Hill Public Preschool Program thanks all Veterans for their service.
Students across the five preschool locations participated in this activity. The Preschool Program continues to grow and provide consistent activities across all locations.

Zone PTA Gift Card Drive Info!
THE ORANGE BUCKETS ARE BACK!
Annually, Cherry Hill Zone PTA asks each PTA and their school community to help support families in need from our schools. We are asking for gift cards in denominations of $10 or $15 to Shoprite, Target or Walmart.
(We will also accept cash donations, which we will use to buy gift cards and then deliver those gift cards directly to the families identified by our school counselors and nurses as having the greatest need.)
Last year more than 150 students and their families benefited from these donations!
You can drop your donations in the orange Home Depot bucket labeled Zone PTA Gift Card Drive inside any school’s main office.
Please send donations by 11/27/24.
For any questions or concerns, please email Amanda LeeMasci, Cherry Hill Zone PTA Treasurer, at amanda.zonepta@gmail.com
Thank you for helping your Cherry Hill friends, classmates, and neighbors have a more enjoyable holiday season!
