Updates from the Superintendent's Office to the Community
Dear SCESD Community,
As we step into this season of gratitude, I want to take a moment to celebrate and thank our entire Salinas City Elementary School District Family. Each of you—our students, families, staff, and community partners—plays an essential role in creating the vibrant and inclusive community that defines our District.
In SCESD, we strive to build a sense of belonging for every individual. Whether it’s the laughter of students on the playground, the dedication of staff nurturing growth in the classroom and programs, or the steadfast support of our families and trustees, these connections are the foundation of our shared purpose. Together, we create spaces where joy flourishes, relationships deepen, and every member feels valued and seen.
Our students remind us daily of the magic of learning, curiosity, and kindness. Their enthusiasm inspires us to do our very best to ensure they thrive, not just academically, but as confident and compassionate individuals. Our staff, with their passion and care, make our schools more than places of education—they make them places of hope and opportunity. And our families and community partners, with their unwavering involvement, strengthen the bonds that allow us to grow together.
As we prepare for Thanksgiving, I encourage you to embrace the moments that bring joy and connection. This holiday season is an opportunity to reflect on the blessings we share, to celebrate the relationships that uplift us, and to create new memories with loved ones. In this spirit, I hope you find time to pause, recharge, and cherish the people who make life meaningful. Please remember that schools will be closed for Thanksgiving Recess from November 25–29, and the District Office will be closed on November 28 and 29.
I wish each of you a holiday filled with warmth, gratitude, and belonging. Thank you for being part of our SCESD Community and for contributing to the joy we create together.
Happy Thanksgiving! ¡Feliz día de Acción de Gracias!
With gratitude,
Rebeca Andrade, Ed.D.
