Happy February!
Dear Rayburn Parents and Guardians,
This year has been going by so quickly but we have had a great one thus far. Our Rockets have been working so hard and have been so dedicated to their learning. This month, our campus will be celebrating Kindness Week! We will focus each day on spreading acts of kindness at school and home. At Rayburn Elementary we strongly believe it is important to educate your child both academically as well as social/emotionally.
We have concluded our MidYear literacy assessments and I am proud to say that our students have been showing great progress! Teachers and interventionists are targeting reading groups throughout the week to focus on specific skills students need. We will have 3rd -5th grade benchmarks this month, so please mark your calendars for those upcoming dates.
I thank you for your continued support in encouraging your child to read daily. AR points are on the rise as well, and we have some Kinder students already AR reading and testing!! Third-Fifth grade teachers are providing targeted instruction to prepare students for the STAAR exams. Please support our efforts by ensuring your child is at school each day so that they benefit from all that we have planned for them.
I encourage you to set up a conference with your child’s teacher to review your child’s academic progress so that you are well informed of their progress.
Registration is now open for the 2025-2026 school year! Please take time to register and secure your spot for next year. Rayburn has been selected to host the Universal PreK program and we already have many students registered. If you know someone who is interested in enrolling their 4 year old please encourage them to call us for more information.
