Attention 6th Grade Families
The Ohio Department of Health requires students to have Tdap (Tetanus, Diphtheria, Pertussis) and Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccines prior to entering 7th grade. Note that the vaccines should be given on or after the 10th birthday. Please send your immunization report to TKuck@wscloud.org, fax to 614-781-0135, or drop off in the school office. More information can be found on the district website: https://www.worthington.k12.oh.us/studentsparents/health-safety/immunization-information
SUMMER OPPORTUNITIES
DACC Summer Camps
This year's DACC Summer Camp will take place from June 3-5 on the main campus, running daily from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The camp is open to Worthington's rising 7th-9th graders. The cost is $40 per camper. They will be offering 11 exciting camps this year, covering a wide range of areas throughout our building. You can view the full list of camps here. We're excited about this selection because it provides something for everyone—students with diverse interests and passions!
These camps offer a fantastic opportunity for middle school students to gain new skills, make new friends, and experience the world of career-technical education within their own community. For many students, it will also be a valuable week of early career exploration, as they'll have the chance to learn from and collaborate with industry professionals and current DACC students.
Be Wiser Girl's Science Camp
This runs June 16-21. Here is the flyer for more information.
STEM Science Camp for Girls June 16-21, 2025
This is a very cool opportunity for our 7th and 8th grade girls. Buckeye Women in Science, Engineering, and Research (B-WISER) is a non-profit that began in 1990 and is designed for girls who will be completing 7th or 8th grade. We prioritize making this opportunity affordable to any interested young woman; financial aid recipients pay just $160 for the week, including room and board.
Partnering with the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation, B-WISER camp provides hands-on experiences in physics, chemistry, geology, biology, and engineering. The residential program takes place on The College of Wooster campus from June 16-21, 2025. Please see our website for more information: https://bwiser.spaces.wooster.edu/.

Getting on Infinite Campus & Schoology
Infinite Campus, and especially the Parent App, is a great way to keep track of your student's grades. Instructions can be found here.
Schoology is a great place to look at the upcoming due dates for your student. You can always have your student sign on and take you through, or you can get Family Access. Instruction on how to do this can be found here.
School Lunch / Free & Reduced Fees Application
Worthington Schools offers breakfast and lunch to students. Pricing for meals will be based on family eligibility. New Meal Applications are required for families every school year. Families may find the online Free/Reduced Lunch Eligibility Form HERE. All students use their Lunch ID for meals. The student's number can be found in the Parent Portal by selecting the Student ID tab and then look for their student's Lunch PIN.
Families may add money to their lunch account through My Payments Plus. They may also use My Payments Plus to track their student's account and see much money remains on it. My Payments Plus is also used to pay other fees, like high school parking permits and AP testing fees.
When should I keep my student home from school?
Your child is too ill to go to school if he or she has any of the following symptoms:
- Temperature above 100.4 F by mouth (see below)
- Vomiting or diarrhea within the past 24 hours (see below)
- Shortness of breath or has increase in wheezing during normal activity
- Has a cough that interrupts normal activity Pain from an earache, headache, sore throat or recent injury.
- Has yellow or green drainage from nose or eye(s)
- Rash over body or localized to one area of the body (see below)
- Fatigue and needs bed rest (common with flu-like symptoms)
- Signs of conjunctivitis such as red, crusty or swollen eyes (see below)
Students who are sent home with a fever 100.4 degrees or higher must remain at home until the student is fever free for 24 hours without the use of medication. In most cases this means that students will miss the following school day. Please understand that fevers can reoccur within a 24 hour time period and this policy is in the best interest for all students.
Students who are sent home due to vomiting or diarrhea must also stay home for 24 hours to ensure that these symptoms are gone before returning to school.
Students exhibiting signs of conjunctivitis (crusty eyes, red or swollen eyes) may return once the symptoms have been treated and are gone or a note is presented from a doctor stating that the student may return to school.
Students who show signs of a communicable disease exhibiting as a rash may return to school once the rash is gone or a note is presented from a doctor stating that the student may return to school.

Ms. Rob's Ramblings
Anywho, just one cute example of the ways teachers take extra time and effort to engage kids with learning and connect with them. It made me smile. I hope it does you too. :)
