CHS9 Tiger "Tea"

Happy Valentine's Day! It is always fun to see our students enjoy this day. It is also very special on how some of our teachers are able to incorporate the day into their lessons!

Today, 24 of our 9th graders loaded their charter bus to go set up for this weekend's regional science fair held at the George R. Brown Convention center in downtown Houston. We are proud of them all and wish them all the best!

I have also added a new section of "In the News" below. Twitter is a great way to hear about and keep up with all the good things happening at CHS and in CISD!

Some of the TNN girls started a podcast. They did great for their first episode.

We are still seeing lots of students with cold and flu symptoms. The flu is starting with a sudden headache and nausea this year. Students are testing positive for the flu without the typical symptoms of fever and body aches. If your child has the typical cold symptoms of congestion, cough, runny nose, and headache, you may want to consider checking some medication in to the clinic for them.

If your child has a fever over 100 degrees, he or she may not return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without fever reducing medication. Please be aware that the best prevention for illness is to keep your hands clean, avoid touching your face, do not share food or drinks, and get plenty of rest.
